  1. was sgpc right to ban shastar puja? why is nihang history so confusing, on one hand they were on verge of extinction during british raj and had emigrated to sri hazur sahib, during the other they were in control of gurudwaras like sri akal thakt from where they were kicked out of by sgpc and were involved in various morchas for sikh's rights while some say they were preventing dalits from entering sri darbar sahib when they came back from war can I get more info on akali baba sahib singh ji
  2. do you believe in the bhai prahlad singh rehitnama that puts the dohra as "guru khalsa maneyo pargat gura ki deh"
  3. 100%, our worldy studies in language/philosophy/social sciences should at best/least reflect gurmat
  4. so you refute/dispute the authenticity of the taksal in times of sant baba gurbachan singh ji, sant kartar singh ji, sant jarnail singh ji, etc. I understand it is nirmala influenced and has evolved from its tarna dal roots, but it isnt preaching manmat of brahminism yet either only abnormal thing I can think of taksaal doing in a brahmanical way are the akhand paaths, etc. and I was never captured by giani thakur singh ji's katha, it just never clicked with me
  5. the hindu (aam banda living in the land of indus river) might be anna, but the mat isn't totally 100% removed from sikhi and in today's age where there isn't as much clarity, we need to understands vedic literature more to understand our own bani which has beant references to things outside of my younger generation's comprehension (most people, and gursikhs especially, were already well-versed in vedic philosophies) we need gian of sanatan/vedic/hindu ideologies to be first able to pinpoint all differences and properly be able to do parchar throughout India Guru Sahib also sent sikhs to benares to learn vedic languages as far as I can reference, I am pretty sure guru sahiban were well-versed in Indian languages of sanskrit, etc. (and Guru Gobind Singh ji maharaj in braj as well) persian was the wordly/political language of the day, therefore guru sahiban were learned in those as well and therefore we have the long history of Guru Nanak Dev ji freely having discourse with and enlightening maulvis, nawab daulat khan, babur and how Guru Angad Dev ji criticized Humayun, or Guru Angad Dev ji, Guru Raam Das ji kept contact with Akbar, or Guru Hargobind Sahib ji delved in the affairs of mughal state, Guru Har Krishan ji had a spiritual discourse with bahudar shah at a young age, and Guru Gobind Singh ji openly demonstrated to Aurgunzeb the hypocrisy of the mughals in Zafarnamah, etc. etc. but gurbani references vedic culture far more than abrahamic culture, so hence we should prioritize the former in order to understand our own sikhi if we don't understand vedic culture, how can we differentiate dasam bani from hindu"ism" to smack down anti-dasam preachers who merely look at the name of banis like vaar sri bhaugati ji ki or chaubis avatar or chandi charitar to dismiss it to be mythological worship bhulan chuka li khema baksho
  6. bhul chuk maaf but a picture showing brethrenhood amongst four people isn't as unrepresentative of sikhi as liqour or promiscuity would be sangat isn't restricted to khalsa (although that is something we should all strive to be), hence the website is also named sikhsangat
  7. bilkul lol you have any personal knits to pick with the akal thakt version its mostly good and uniting
  8. waheguru ji revisiting this topic, Bhai Jugraj Singh seemed to be more focused on justifying why we need a Rehraas for the most part, and wanted to simplify its function to being a summary of morning nitnem But we can always expand on it, and I just remembered once a Taksali kathavachik did vichaar on Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale's nitnem and told sangat that he used to do panj bania again in the evening and when asked why by a singh, he replied that it was to make up for all the times he did not do nitnem as a young child and that he will be paying off his interest his entire life (can't take gaurantee on authenticity of this claim personally but you get what it means)
  9. alienating or villainizing these unorthodox sects doesn't seem like the answer more vichaardhara between schools of thought is needed (usefull discourse, not just bickering over authenticity of every historical document for years before moving on to next divisive topic)
  10. you are also correct one who studies SGGS or SDGS would already be pretty educated in vedic mat as Guru sahiban have discussed them extensively in shabad da bhandaar I kind of don't get your comments on the Taksal if you can elaborate more, when do you think the Taksal was hijacked by Nirmalas, I would say influenced a bit but I don't think too far, plus aren't some commonly referenced scholars Nirmala influenced Kavi Santokh Singh and many more teachers of those involved in singh sabha movement and sant samaj etc. plus what we say about Nirmalas, they repeat the same about our understanding of sikhi being "talibanized", where does this stop?
  11. agreed, sikhi is much further away from Islam than from Vedic civilization/sanatan dharam or whatever they call it nowadays plus, they also possess the concept of a paarbrahm that all must connect to and the purpose of our lives is to eventually merge, (although they have become much more worldly and temporal, going as far as to name kaam as one of four padaratha of life along with moksha, and also restrict the ability to merge to only brahmins) hindus are far more capable of understanding sikhi than thosse from abrahamic mats
  12. I know this forum is super old but sant hari singh kaharpuri and sant gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale and other folks in sant samaj did NOT throw mud at each other in books on the contrary, jain wale, harkowal wale, and bhindranwale would often get together whenever they would be in the same area (north hoshiarpur, dasuya area) as per my own grandmother's witness do not confuse sant samaj of nanaksar, mastuana, etc. with today's dhadri/dhumma/joni baba division
  13. on the playlist, it is #26 video titled saacha naam mera adhaaro around the 37:32 mark he explains what he explained in the very first "dhan su kaagad kalam dhan", that rehraas is a small version of panj bania where sodar is from japuji, more bani on importance of naam (sort of like shabad hajaaze), than so purakh talks about who we are worshipping and the qualities of that being (like sri jaap sahib), then more shabads on importance of naam and humility/love sort of like tav prasad swaiye with "saach kehu sun leho sabhai, jin prem kiyo tin hi prabh payo", then bir ras chaupai, and mini-anand sahib for the purpose because sikhi is often repetitive of the concepts, and all of sggs connects back to japji sahib which in turn connects back to beej mantra/mool mantra since our brain is sooo forgetful and which is why we have shabad da bhandaar dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib ji maharaj refreshing to get a perspective of simplicity and clarity from bhai jugraj singh and he didn't mention anything about the negatives of reading full anand sahib and instead he has only said often in other videos as well that sgpc rehit is the minimum and we should strive for more bania (like his benti in his last video released march 2017 where he does benti to include a friend for every one of panj bania) only negative bout this I can think of personally is disobeying Guru Khalsa Panth and it's decision in 1945 or whenever the sgpc rehit maryada was agreed upon, but in that frame of mindset so does budha dal panth, thakt hazur sahib dakhni nihang, nanaksar, taksal, etc.
  14. its okay you guys can find it easily on youtube by just searching "rehraas with full anand sahib", and there comes this giani mahinder singh ji
  15. hmm I sent a message thanking you but topic moderators don't let me release stuff as fast but its been almost three hours now anyhow, appreciate your feedback, the reason for my sankoch and caution on this matter is primarily because there isn't any historical reference to someone doing rehraas with full anand sahib, not even nihang singhs one of my friends said bhai mani singh gutka sahib might have done it that way but he isn't too sure, and I thought taksali nitnem was based off of bhai mani singh ji and akali baba deep singh ji's gutka sahibs so I'm not sure why they would deviate from those either I have found only one example of a sikh doing this on youtube, for which the link was sent in a prior message It just seems way too weird for me to skip 85% of one of the panj bania you get what I mean
  16. wasn't steve scalise shot at by a deranged bernie fan again, nothing to do with bernie or politics, deranged is deranged lol
  17. how are tarna dal and budha dal gutka sahib different?
  18. appreciate the work the reason for my sankoch and caution on this matter is primarily because there isn't any historical reference to someone doing rehraas with full anand sahib, not even nihang singhs one of my friends said bhai mani singh gutka sahib might have done it that way but he isn't too sure, and I thought taksali nitnem was based off of bhai mani singh ji and akali baba deep singh ji's gutka sahibs I have found only one example of a sikh doing this (9) Sri Rehras Sahib with Anand Sahib (40 Pauria) - Giani Mahinder Singh "Khalsa Ji" at Home Dudley - YouTube I don't know why, it seems too weird to me to skip 85% of one of the panj bania
  19. yes, bhai jugraj singh said some valuable things when he gets to the dasam bani part of rehraas that katha playlist is a rattan we have of him
  20. I have said before, mental health plays a big part in this the shastar is there, but the person's dimaagi santulant is the x factor often colorado I believe had plenty of regulations dems wanted, but the boulder shooting occured nonetheless unfortunately there is no count of rapes, abuses, murders/homicides prevented with weapons and evidently more people are killed with blunt objects, and in the urban hoods where all these regulations are in place, crime is super high and people are often too regulated to access a gun when living in such dangerous places I am currently too young to buy one so I have no firsthand experience, but those that own firearms usually quote a long process sometimes, so I wouldn't quite say getting a gun is that easy either but I think most common sense folks can agree background checks are important (which are in place) even though these rules don't apply in some states when a employer or landlord wants to check the criminal record of their tenant or employee lol
  21. waheguru ji there are examples of both but yeah, white young mentally challenged male is usually the factor in these instances, and often they are sjw and many a times MAGA crackheads lol
  22. its the effect of mental health detoriation here in the states waheguru jio lot of these shootings are either woke sjw liberal college students, or veterans suffering ptsd, and many others suffering from mental health issues
  23. Yeah I have done it a few times that way careless of what people thought, and I don't know either how it can be bad but apparently some folks believe it to be manmat to be adding bani onto rehraas
  24. what confuses me sometimes is how the dynamic of guru panth co-existing with guru granth sahib pardhaan shabad I hope someone can help me understand that a bit more as well
