  1. I think Jutta and Joot refer to the matted hair and joora of the rishis and sidhs
  2. I think that this has to be taken in a historical context as well: Here's a snippet of a katha talking about the seli topi - https://kam1825.podbean.com/e/seli-topi/ What are your thoughts on this ji?
  3. 1 and 4 i'm a little iffy about, moreso 4 than 1 but 2 and 3 seem fine
  4. Not enough parchar of Sikhi is being done
  5. When the puratan paintings are examined, it is shown that all the gurus did not wear the same style of dastaar, however.
  6. I also heard something like the first 6 gurus wore a seli topi on this forum. I also don't know how accurate this statement is though.
  7. I would say one of the worst things about communism is that it gets rid of the nuclear family.
  8. I think it does defeat the purpose. Sikhs have their own separate bana that is fashionable in it's own way and it has been perserved very well throughout the ages

  11. True but it would be able to give profit that will do more good in the long run if donated to Sikh orgs... Maybe 1/10 of the starting money rn should go to Farmer's protest or any other panthic cause
  12. http://sttm.co/s/5158/58423 ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਹੈ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਬਿਚਾਰੁ ॥ Kabeer, it does make a difference, how you chant the Lord's Name, 'Raam'. This is something to consider. ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਭੈ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਉਤਕਹਾਰ ॥੧੯੦॥ Everyone uses the same word for the son of Dasrath and the Wondrous Lord. ||190||

  14. does kavi ji list his source for these lines? or is it present in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under a different title...
  15. To my knowledge it started as part of the panth but broke off later on during Singh Sabha. There were then 2 groups, the original Nirankaris and Sant Nirankaris, which believe in human gurus
  16. Indian Chaa is nice with some rusk/biscuits lol I have it once in a blue moon
  17. I use sikhi to the maxx to copy gurbani but i dont think theres a font in the forum for gurmukhi script. If you are on your phone, you can maybe use a gurmukhi keyboard...
  18. It's really sad that the media barely talks about these hate crimes ?
  19. I read an article where it said that namdharis wear a more flatedged and compact version of that style; interesting to see the similarities - https://jodhsingh.medium.com/a-visual-history-of-the-sikh-turban-ca294b58953b
