  1. This picture sort of relates to the colors that was worn in the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh...
  2. Janam Piyara Bhai Mokham Singh Ji - 22 Jeth Operation Bluestar - June 4th
  3. Ok ji, I don't really want to start an argument. I just wanted to clarify for the sangat that Namdharis aren't keshdhari Hindus. That is not to say that they don't have Hindu influences, however; but they are definitely not Hindus. Bhul chuk maaf ji
  4. Gurguddi Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji - Birth Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale - 20 Jeth
  5. I'll look for more reliable sources but that doesn't mean you should discredit what I said ji.
  6. Was listening to Baru Sahib Rehraas Sahib today and they did full Anand Sahib:
  7. Shaheedi Bhai Mengha Singh Ji Babbar - 19 Jeth 1st June - Day 1 of the 1984 attacks by the Indian government on the Harmandir Sahib Complex
  8. Found this online - does this seem like Khalsa Cha?: http://www.khalsaherbals.com/herbal-tea.htm One of the ingredients in the link i posted above has daal chini so I think it should be fine
  9. It was a decision made by BoS i think, definitely not Youtube
  10. Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj was often not available and instead Lavan was read while walking around a fire. I'm not trying to justify it nor do I think it should be practiced today. Namdhari's have tried their best to preserve their beliefs and during British rule that is how marriage was performed. Here's a thread that mentions it - https://www.sikhphilosophy.net/threads/history-of-anand-karaj.3732/
  11. I think lavan around a fire was commonplace before Nirankaris introduced what we have today Bhul chuk maaf
  12. This is what I use to download Scribd pdfs - https://scribddown.com/ Also, I think archive.org is a free alternative that allows the uploading of pdfs
  13. The footnote in the last screenshot is interesting. To my knowledge, Guru Nanak Dev ji never banned eating pigs explicitly. What's his reference for that?
  14. I think the respect (not worship) of cows is more of a cultural thing than any thing else so I wouldn't go as far to call Namdharis just keshdhari Hindus
  15. Interesting thread! A lot of people don't realize just how learned our ancestors were...
  16. For the panth parkash this is cover: If I'm reading it correctly it is Giani Gian Singh Panth Parkash and was transcribed by Bhai Kaka Singh and possibly a Bhai Lalan Singh (need to work on reading larivaar so may be off)? For Gian Ratanawali: It was written by Bhai Mani Singh and transcribed by Chraag Deen maybe? I don't know about that one...
  17. True, it seems to be a method of transcribing pothis and granths. Found a pathar chapa version of panth parkash: Also the version of Gian Ratanawali i posted in Sikhawareness some time back seems to have been produced in a similar manner: It's interesting to note that the characters are similar maybe different combinations of stone pieces made different words?
  18. To my understanding, this was not really set in stone but sort of a more cultural aspect
