  1. Facebook is brilliant...thats where I find out about all sikhi related events quickly...only people who have your email adress can see your profile I think.

^Its True, They are a secret society...I had a breif stint of waitering for them back in they day and most of our local celebs were there...people looked very rich. We had to leave the room when they were having thier secret discussions!
  3. That didnt look natural, I wonder what the medical/scientific reason for death was? He got kicked in the head it looks like by the guy in red, might it have been a fit or a seizure?! Anyone know whether he actually died?
  4. Like I said before, count me in...Im ready and willing to undertake whatever work needs doiing.
  5. Lagaan is funny Film espically when that Singh pops out of nowhere in Gujrat to face the British in a game of Cricket  P.S worship Bajrang Bali on Mondays...thats actually the day according to my Hindu Mates.
  6. Whens the Match? Whats the Ticket Price?! If all Is well, Id take a crowd down with Flags...can cheer Monty at the same time
  7. 8. I think there's something wrong with it! It seems to be melting. You should take it to the vets.
  9. We have vegetarian Cats (their brothers) they cant eat meat, their allergic and get really ill...we have to give em special vege biscuits and milk. Thought Id just share that with you  And our Dog in India only eats roti's.
  10. It should be okey to consume Veer ji because you'd have to eat a inhumanly massive amount to become intoxicated me thinks.
  11. I have friends from a Radha Soami background, though they arent religious themselves, should I really not be sharing a meal with them? even though thier parents are strict Radha Soamis.
  12. Websites like Hindusikh.org and the one above are very manipulative, they have very warped theories and refuse to debate issues... and undermine Sikhi espically Hindusikh.org I usually try to keep an openmind but websites like these increase my distrust of Hindus so I usually avoid such sites because I dont want to generalise that all Hindus think the same, well I hope they dont neway.
  13. Thats my fav Gurdwara when I was a Kid lol. They never used to do the Artee when I was little and Baba Ajit Singh has passed away now so I dunno wether these new practices have started to thrive whilst he isnt there... Though I did used to go to Raja Sahib on London Road Leicester (shut down now) and they used to do the Artee there and they said they did it to show devotion to Guru Ji and that there is no need to do it but they do it out of love!?!? And sooo many Gurdwaray in the UK do Artee, Im surprised that you guys are actually surprised by this practice. Every Month coaches from Leicester, London, Bham and even Glasgow go to Ajit Darbar... for some special day or something. Loads of Gurdwaray around the world are named after him, theres a massive one in Delhi. He was a cool character, though abit silly for name Gurdwaray after himself.
  14. Cos its difficult to digest along with too much chillies and so it disturbes your meditation. LOL thats a new one Ive never really found a problem with it and i eat enough chillies. A lot of sugar n stuff can get my head rushing though occasionally... so maybe we shudnt really eat parshaad or anything either... infact, we should all just stick to bread n milk for all our meals.. :umm: Well thats Buddhist belief innit! It is a Buddhist resturant...also Hindus not ment to eat garlic and Onion during Navatri (sp?) cos the 9 Goddesses couldnt digest it either.

  16. Well personally, me and my peers gave up meat because we didnt agree with the creul slaughter industry out there and very bad experiences in eating meat i.e food poisioning but I see where your coming from... but I come from a family that has meat on the dinner table everyday! and it becomes really hard to give up eating something you've eaten all your life and thus you look for replacement to get rid of longing for it... after a while I find that I dont like vege chops and some other recreations... Alternatives have been useful for me to make the transition. hmm Im not replused by meat eaters or eating meat... I just choose not to have the death of an animal feed my appitite... O and veggie sausages taste alot better and more healthier than the real thing! I dont understand why its hypocritical!?
  17. lol that happened to me aswell, except I wasnt sqaused; was in Year 6...I just put the tray on the edge and as I was sitting down I flipped it on me...and it was very Hot lasagne, it stung for ages. All my friends laughed but the dinner lady just shock her head! I think I actually cried lol
  18. For those of you that like to eat Fast food we have RED VEG...already posted my thoughts on this place. http://www.redveg.com/ But now for your evening meals I found Veggie Inn in Harrow, its a Buddhist place so no egg, animal products, onions and Garlic (suppose its good for vegans amoungst you)... Why is it so good? Firstly, very good service and yummy food! Secondly, For those amougnst you that recently gave up meat, well they re-create meat dishes with vegetarian substitutes made from soya protein that are flavoured to taste like the meat or seafood that they are imitating....and I took some meat eaters with me and they couldnt tell the difference. http://www.veggieinn.com/ Soo Yup, check it out!
  19. Cool checked it out... its £5 per court per hour. though Oadby is abit of a trek for people with no cars, Interest seems to be really high. I think what we need to do is arrange a meet for people at Evington Park/East Park Road GurGhar, see how many turn up and then see if it is practical to shift people to Oadby or hop on to the bus and go Evington Park. What does sangat think? :umm: Leicester is the besta!
  20. I been there, and got alcohol as Prashad...got a bit tipsy, I was a kid; dunno what I was doing. but yer it happens. Women bring alcohol to distibute amoungst the sangat and then all the men get drunk, theres another place like this in Punjab. Women drink it aswell but they dont get mashed.
  21. Yep anyone above 14+ should be alright. Evington Park tennis courts are the best ones I have been to within the area of GurGhar, The reason why I think it is important to be close to the GurGhar is because people can meet up there incase they dont know location and transport can be arranged from there for people who dont have it. Though do you know of any other good courts in Area? I was thinking the first session should be around the first week of June when exams are over?!
  22. WaheGuru WaheGuru. Who was that bibya Da Jatha at the end? They were amazing...the stage they sat on said "Ramgharia Girls College, Ludianna." Anybody know where I can listern to em again!? Amazing.
