    anyone own a dog?

I have a dog, it’s lovely to have one and great for the children (depending what breed you get) we feed the dog dry dog food and have a separate shelf for her stuff in the conservatory. You can’t make the dog veggie they are designed to eat meat; it is their khraakh. As mentioned above Guru sahib had a baaz what do you think Guru Jee gave it. Depending on different breed it depends how much maintenance is needed regarding grooming etc; some need more than others, some may have separation anxiety. I would say do your research when getting one. As for nitnem, keertan, sehaj paath etc, it has never been an issue she has patience and enjoys listening to keertan. Please do your research and at be patient with them they are part of the family; try to get a rescue as there are many unwanted dogs in kennels. Cavalier King Charles spaniels area great happy calm breed. ??
  2. Bhai Jagraj went there a few times and his videos went viral due to this, I asked Basics to continue going there with his vision but they said they don’t intend to go there for the foreseeable future.
  3. You are forgetting Guru Gobind Singh maharaaj is Guru Nanak Jee therefore the Kes is important amongst other things. Futher, Guru sahib did start this Panth with the agiaa for Vaaheguroo sahib Jee. Guru sahib advised others how to be true to their Dharam and used metaphors for them as you have stated above. Maybe don’t look at Sikhi through the lens of Abrahamic faiths?
  4. Hello, Intimacy between yourself and your partner is fine so I am not sure why you are feeling guilty. Please try not to over think. Your are still a Khalsa you have been pesh and your lekha has been ripped apart by the Punj piaare and that in itself (presenting yourself in front on the punj) is a very noble act. Try not to over think, try to do some Sangat of gursikhs locally. Your brother T Singh
  5. I am some what pretty disappointed that Londons oldest Gurudwara which has always asked for the people's support would allow this. They are usually quite Panthic and allow Sikh students to hold events there as well. Maybe someone who has contact with the committee can ask them in the most nicest way what is going on!
  6. Time and time again I have stated to the elders what we need to do is what they are doing. What they are doing is helping and feeding the poor. Seva is part of our dharam yet unfortunately we have failed is certain parts of applying seva. What these missionaries are attempting to do (some parts successfully) is helping the poor, feeding them assisting them and then also handing them a bible. In my opinion what we need to do collectively we have big aid charities now that go over the world and or have teams in Punjab, we need to have weekly soup kicthens, food banks and do parchaar at the same time. If these aid charities have teams in Punjab this should not be so difficult. For too long the Sikhs have turned a blind eye to the Isaaiees in Punjab, I say when will we wake up, when its too late (as usual) this is the mentality always. Seriously, we need to reform ourselves in our attidude of how it used to be.
  7. Although there may not be any requirement for separation however even in my mothers pind and fathers both men and women sit separately. I during big Programs I have seen and sat as a family due to the huge amount of people. In the west and possibly locally in Punjab I feel it's better reason being: unfortunately you will get disrespectful boys and girls who will use this opportunity for God knows what. I remember 8 or 9 years ago during a youth program a couple who liked each other and were getting in to Sikhi and during simran program whilst the lights were out the two were sitting next to each other and were caught holding hands. You will get this all day long if you think it's better and then it's a downward spiral. Secondly if you listen to Bh Manmohan singhs Talk he mentioned recently said that these groomers have been caught discussing that it's ok to go to a gurdwaras langur hall and sit there looking for your next victim. Can you imagine if we allowed mix sitting upstairs. Vaaheguru Seperate sitting is better for so many reasons.
  8. I don't really like to post on this subject but, ok you say veggies have a poor diet and are out of shape. However you are referring to the ones who over indulging. You say meat eater have a better diet, however as you have pointed out the veggies that 'over-indulged' compare them to the meat eater who over indulge. The over indulging meat eater are obese compared to the veggies, just look at the amount obese people around today indulging in red meat burgers, pies, Mayo, battered sausages kebabs plus eating all the veggie bad stuff as well. Of-course due to faith however as well as health reasons I would rather be a veggie. Have been over 9 years and never felt healthier lighter and haven't been over weight. You just need to eat healthy and eat right portions with exercise. I say the meat eaters need to change their diet and become veggie as they are the ones getting out of shape and becoming obese just look around today uk and us the amount of obese people there are. It's all the pies, chicken burgers, kebabs, steaks, etc. Thanks you.
  9. Pretty sure that's the logo used by the Babbars, and their Jathedar Singh Bh Wadhawa Singh, unless I am mistaken. Maybe a splinter group.. But hopefully the sinners of Punjab may think twice before hurting someone.
  10. If you can, speak to some of the local youth bibis in your area, if you dont know them and you are from UK maybe there could be some bibian here from your town. As I am from UK I will try to contact some youth leaders to get in touch with you if you are also from UK. If you are from another part of the world I am sure the sangat here can get you in touch with some like minded bibian around your age. Your brother.
  11. Dear Phenjee I am very sorry to hear about your problem. I would do a benti to the sangat here if a bibi could answer some points in to phenjees problem. In regards to your question about meditation. Naam japp of gurmantar and mool mantar is the only meditation a Sikh should do, along with Gurbaani paath. Maybe do some Chaupai Sahib and get involved in your local sangat at the Guru Ghar with other like minded youths. Your brother
  12. Nailed it! Thats exactly whats going on here. Veer Jugraj Singh doing great seva and becoming well known even in non-Sikh circles yet he is made to be in a position that someone else has a problem with. Why stop at only him then? why only him Barinder? I beg of you to go and ask all other Gursikhs who are in the media and put a response on here: Ask Navreet Singh Ask Harinder Singh Naviar Khalsa Jatha Ask Dr Sukhpreet Singh Udhoke Ask Gurmej Singh Gill Ask Joga Singh Ask Amrik Singh Federation Ask Ravi from Khalsa Aid Ask Balbir Singh Bains SOPW So on and so fourth All the Singhs and organsations in the lime light and may need sangats support ask them all and do the same, make a dedicated thread for each of them for the stand on your question. What seriously is the point of this, you could have just asked him personally for his opinion. We all have opinions. If you think that peoples opnion on 3HO is so so important then go around and ask all the people and all the organisations menioned and do that same to them too then. Many thanks.
  13. Dear VeerJee Can I ask have you tried to do amritvela Simran (meditation) with together with other gursikhs. I can assure you that this expierence is amazing. Also maybe doing nitnem together may help you appreciate the beauty of gurbaani. Everyone is at different levels and when one comes on a path you have to work at it to seek the fruits of the labour. Just like a student enrolling on a course will have to study to get good marks at the end of his/her studies. You must have good karam and its guru sahibs kirpaa that you have come across Sikhi. Meeting with other Sikhs and doing Jap Jee Sahib, Rehraas Sahib along with Morning naam will help. Let us know where you are based and hopefully someone will start doing sangat with you. Many thanks.
  14. Sorry to hear your story and it is dissapointing that you had gone through such an ordeal. But veerjee to reject Gurus path because of some bad apples within the community? There are people like that in all communities even within the Christain community. Secondly I am not sure its fair to say 'the entire Sikh panth' rejected you because I dont think everyone knew of your ordeal; I certainly didnt. I am sure had your ordeal been more wider known certainly someone would have assisted. Sikhs world wide are known to give and assist. Its dissapointing that it took 21 days for you to decide that. You should thank Vaaheguru that you are out of that ordeal now. Finally, you say after your ordeal you decided to adopt a new faith simply because you feel the Sikh Community (as I said earlier not the entire community) didnt assist you? Although I can understand your disspointment when you feel people to be there for you but they never was; however that doesnt seem logical to have faith in Jesus and the bible after 21 days without even researching it but your reasons are beacuse of the Sikh public. In a sense that means you are not being true to Gurus path and you must not really have faith in the Bible or Jesus because your reason to join them is simply out of anger or bitterness not because you really have faith in it. Veerjee dont decide on such a thing, no disprespect to Christains but in reality read about the Pagan God Mithra who people believed in a couple hundred years before the story of Christ, its basically the same so in a sense Jesus story is probably the pagan story but mixed and macthed to make it this wonderful charecter who people call Jesus that followed One god because Mithras father was the Sun God. In other words may be he never really exsisted, why choose this out of bitterness when you have such a jewel in your reach. I would suggest brother to just relax and take time out.. dont blame Guru for peoples actions. Guru Sahib is perfect and loves you no matter what. Look at the saaki of the Chaali Muktae and the Vadhaava they wrote to Guru Sahib but he still lovingly took them as his SIkhs when they realised they made a mistake. Guru Sahib had Bhai Mahaa Singh in his laps; thats how piaara our Guru is. Guru Sahib loves you, us all. Remember what Guru Jee says Ja tau prem khian ka chaao sir dhar tali gali meri aao. Its at Guru sahibs door where to play the game of unconditional love. I do ardaas for you veer jeeo Many thanks.
  15. No problem at all, I appreicate the other links; thank you.
  16. Hello Simran, Thank you for the links very much appreciated; however none are of the video posted in the original post. Does anyone know where to find the full audio for the above video. Many thanks.
  17. Does anybody know where I can get the link for the full recording of this young brother doing keertan:
  18. I think overall youth in all communities are being led astary, dont think its just the Sikh community. I have known of couple girls myself one of the Pakistani community and one of Bengali community that have been dating out of their community both men were from the black community. My bengali friends have told me that it is common in their community were their girls date men from the black community without their families knowning and run away with them. I know of a Afghani woman who done the same thing and has ran away with the man and has two children by him; unfortunately she also has a bad drug habit. I know of another Pakistani woman who is a single motherdrinks, does drugs has a child of two and gets up to no good going clubbing etc. You see girls in Hijab getting up to no good to, however the problem is not just Muslim girls or Sikh girls its overall youth.
  19. I can not remember the author, I just googled it and unfortunately can not see it up. I think it was printed by an East London Guruduara Sahib (Either Neville Road or Rosebury Avenue) It was letters back and forth between a Muslim gentleman and a Sikh gentleman. It shows the arguments Muslims attempt to use along with their scholars mis-using and misquoting gurbani/Sikh history and the letters from the Sikh gentleman displays the actual context and of the questioning at hand; further how their attempt on questioning Sikhi is contradiciting themselves and should apply the question they pose on Sikhi on themselves. Great book and a must read for all college and uni Sikhs to apply knowledge during this time. Maybe some other veer/phens would know about it on how to get hold of it.
  20. Whoever your friend or this person is, is just taking one line or a few words of a shabad. There is a whole verse to understand not just a few lines. Calling Bhagat Dhana Jee Jatt, is just for reference as that how is was known as. Its like we dont refer to Maharaja Ranjeet Singh as just Ranjeet Singh or Soocha Soorma. Even now people who are not following Sikhi or dont know much Sikh history will refer to Bhagat Jee as Dhana Jatt. You say this person is an ex-Sikh I am curious to know has this person commence following another path or has become an atheiest. I remember in Univsersity a person who claimed he was Sikh had become an Muslim, unfortunately he grew up in a prodominately Muslim area so never had any Sikh friends or sangat. When I answered all his questions and even gave him a book called 'a Challenge to Sikhism' (great book by the way) instead of accepting the answers to his questions in the book he went to the Muslims to get their version and understanding of Sikh history and scriptures even though he claimed he wanted to learn Sikhi and our history. I found this bizzare if you want to learn Sikhi go to Sikhs not Muslims they wont have nothing too good to say about it. Thats like going to Hindus to learn Chirstainity. Poor banda was confused and had a sense of belonging in the area he grew up in.
  21. Thanks for the above looks very interesting; especially the barns they look perfect to start something off. :smile2:
  22. Lol @ Mercedes, Maybe they wont, for me, being in an eco-friendly sikh sangat village type of community would be the best.
  23. I can imagine it was. I suppose it could start with around seven to eight families all putting in equal share of money buying the land and slowly sustaining it, with homes, crops water pump animals etc. then increasing the size Ofcourse nothing is easy at first but it is no way impossible. If others in UK as well as other parts of the world can do it, its possible Sikhs could do it. It doesnt have to be just a dream. :-)
  24. Governments are making it more, difficult to be sustained in this country, income is not increasing whilst prices of products are. People are being more strained financially and crime is on the increase, its difficult to raise good children in such a harsh society and kuljug is ever strong, sooner or later the society will collapse. To be stress free, peaceful and just concentrate on yourself, family sangat, Sikhi cleaner food etc. and be happy rather than bills mortgage influence on children and to educate in a safer environment and just away from negative vibes wouldn’t an Sikh Eco-village be ideal. I hear many people are going this way, I have done some research and am amazed on the amount of people interested in this sort of idea and how some villages are already set up in England as well as other parts of the world. I think a Sikh eco-village is set up either in Canada or US. I too am interested in such an idea in England; it would be great just to live off the land, with like minded people grow your own food, have a couple cows horses keertan during day time teach the children. sew your clothes, it can be sustained the proof is our own people in Punjab. All would need to put in some money to start. I definitely would love to do this; anyone else her interested get in touch.
  25. Could NeoSingh be the infamous 'Jasminder' that phones up BBC Asian Network Nihals radio show and tells lies about Sikhi Gurmat and great gursikhs???
