I agree. I'm not against anyone having different beliefs. However, misrepresentation of Sikhi shouldn't be classed as merely a 'different belief'. Ironically they purport to follow the same Guru and yet are vastly different. This makes no sense. Their as bad as the various baba dera's in India. Misrepresenting Sikhi is a serious problem. The masses sadly have no idea what Sikhi is about. It's such misunderstandings which are easily perpetuated through communities that ultimately leave the kaum being divided. A divided kaum is a weak kaum.

Might be a bit off topic but I find it pathetic people resort to say 'where does it say XYZ'? Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches principles for life. It's not a set a didactic instructions. I think people have picked up such habits from muslims.

A Sikh marrying a non-sikh is not justified regardless of gender. I can however unequivocally say that there are far more Sikh girls marrying non-sikh boys than there are Sikh-boys marrying non-sikh girls. Wrong as it may sound, perhaps this is why there is a greater stir when a Sikh girl is marrying a non-sikh boy.
