  1. I have found this Katha by Bhai Avtar Singh, but its missing like half of the cds online. It ends at volume 16 and they are only at ang 836. So either they didn't do the full katha or the last few cds weren't uploaded. I don't think hindi is gonna be ok, thanks for the reply though. Please cybersangat ji, there has to be someone out there that knows!
  2. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!! Title says it all, looking for a complete Katha of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji recording by some one other than Giani Thakur Singh Ji and Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh ji. I found Bhai avtar singh jis recording but it isn't complete. Please help if you can.
  3. I'm not sure what brahmgiani's would do, but I think their presence alone can send evil spirits running. On a side note. Theres this buddy I know in india who had some black magic done to him. He went to a mulsim peer to get this undone and the peer took a piece of paper, wrote some verse from the holy Qur'an on it and put the piece of paper in a glass of water. He was then told to drink the water and he did. As he did, he felt some burden or weight leave his body and was fine after that. That's what he told me atleast There also that story about Sant Ishar singh ji's encounter with a boy who is possessed by a ghost names Suleman. This ghost wasn't evil in fact and was looking for mukti. "Suleman was a pir and saw his daughter and a sadhu together romantically while he was in samaadhi and got angry and went looking for the sadhu to kill him. He couldnt find the sadhu and when he got home he burnt his daughter and a short while later his wife died of grief. then he started doing bad things for money as he had ridhia sidhia. after he died he was taken by jamdoot to dharamrai - took one year, beating him all the way. He describes what dharamrai looks like - 'beard white like the sun, skin red like molten copper'. Dharamraja tells him he has to go to kunbi narak until he learns his lesson, and then has to be a pret for a thousand years. Suleman asks how he will get mukti - Dharamrai says that God will come to earth in the form of 10 Gurus, after some time when Sulemans sentence is finished there will Guru Nanak Dev ji's sant in Rara Sahib who will give him mukti. Then he asks Dharamrai where the sadhu who slept with his daughter is as he wants revenge. Dharamrai says that he will be a boy called manmohan singh and you will recognise him when you see him. You can beat him, but you cant kill him, he will lead you to Sant Isher Singh. Suleman says he met Guru Nanak Dev Ji in mecca medina, where he was told he had to do what Dharamraja told him. He also says that he met Guru Gobind Singh Ji but not in detail - he was questioned by someone and suleman answered "I have already told you I met him." Suleman says that people used to to pooja at his grave (muslims), and one day a boy urinated on the grave, suleman looked at him and recognised the sadhu he has been wiating for. He started attacking him, until he remembered Dharamrajas word, and let him go, when the boy became uncoinscious. The villagers quickly came and got him, doctors found nothing wrong - didnt know what had happened. At first he cam to Hapur in someone elses body and then started speakin in manmohan singh, who was in Maharaji's sangat. Maharaji found someone to have suleman as a baby that both suleman and the family agreed to and suleman went. First he refused to go to someones house coz they were rich, then when he agreed to this family he said that he would go but wouldnt sell newsparers ( that was his father to be's work) A few weeks later Suleman turned up at Rara Sahib again, Maharaji asked him why he broke his word, Suleman said he didnt break it - it takes six months for the human to form and then he will go back because the pain was too much in the womb - written in Anand Sahib paat as well (mata ke udar meh pratipal kare). Maharaji said ok, Suleman took Manmohans singhs body again and started living in rara sahib sangat as sevadar. This is when one of those recordings was made that is on the net. This was made by balwant singh, and the transcript is also in the book. This conversation you've heard on the recording. He seems a nice enough guy 7 months later Suleman was still there, Maharaji called him and again asked why he broke his word, Suleman said he was sorry, but wanted see Maharajis birthday before he went. Maharaji said no - the baby was ready. Suleman replied that Mahraji could do anything, and that he could the delay the birth, Maharaji agreed. 11 months after his mother got pregnant, Suleman was born, after Maharaji refused another extension - saying it would to painful for the mother to wait any longer. He left his nishan on manmohan singh - his tongue was all spotty. For 4 years after he was born Suleman could remember all that had happened to him - he also described what kunbi narak was like and what people had to do - some people were being burnt again and again - didnt really understand that bit coz his urdu is strange. Theres a couple other stories about prets and how they got mukti through saptah paat, and extracts from Gurbani about pret/bhoot etc. He described how prets possess people - 'like how tissue sticks to sweat on a body, the pret envelopes the human'. Prets are attracted to the smell given off by people who eat meat, eggs and drink alcohol, because their food is blood and meat - which they eat through animals. from sikhawareness.com "
  4. Touché. My blunt stupidity is mine to show. I shall show it with honor.
  5. I wonder how different our history would've been if Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji woud've replied to Baba Sri Chand's question ("Why do you, the great guru, grow such a long beard?"), with "If you want to go into this then, I'll make you look like a fool. So it's best if you stick to being arrogant here.".... just a thought...
  6. No ones denying that fact. Guru sahib said jap, and thats exactly what our brothers and sisters are doing. No offense bro/sis but putting down someone elses way of practicing truth isn't going to make your way any more true. Also, yoga is NOT just an exercise. Everything we do in so called mainstream "Sikhism" is a form of yoga and pretty much has been practiced for many millennia. We sit in their postures, we chant with their techniques, then we deny their existence...? And about the label "3HO Sikhs". I don't think they gave themselves that label. "We" did.
  7. is LOLing at the sponsored links

  8. Are you sure you read the whole article bro? "What happened was that a man of Christ and an artist, through the symbol of the Khanda, had a chance to move into truly Universal consciousness and realize that his symbol of the Lady of Guadalupe and our symbol of the Khanda point to that same Divine Power which mothers all of Creation. And ultimately, isn’t that what our Sikh faith is about – giving people a chance to move beyond a one-aspected understanding of the Divine into an understanding that every faith, every culture, every symbol is trying to describe that one Indescribable Power behind Creation?" From what I took out of it, the mural is much deeper than meets the eye. You can't just pick out bits and pieces of it. Look at it as a whole.
  9. You are a very lucky soul to have realized that dear sister but I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I am not denying what guru ji has said, nor am I denying that guru ji holds all the answers. All that I am saying is that posting a question that so deep on a forum will not answer it. Until the poster experiences what you have experienced, he will not fully understand what guru ji means by ਭਈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹੁਰੀਆ ॥ This human body has been given to you. ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਣ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਰੀਆ ॥ This is your chance to meet the Lord of the Universe. ਅਵਰਿ ਕਾਜ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਕਾਮ ॥ Nothing else will work. ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥ Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; vibrate and meditate on the Jewel of the Naam. ||1|| And to shastr veerji, I think Barfi n Mithai ( awesome name =D), is trying to comprehend the science behind the sound current. Here is a pretty long but deep article about science and religion. http://www.mrsikhnet.com/index.php/2008/01...-come-together/ Forgive me if I have said anything wrong or have in any way offended anyone.
  10. I think this question cannot be answered by someone else. The word life has no meaning without reference to someone's life. So the real question is what is the meaning of YOUR life. Only you know the true answer to your own question. Someone telling you "the meaning to life is blah blah" is meaningless. You must yourself search for the answer and with guru jis blessing, the answer will come.
  11. Our brothers and sisters at sikhnet are currently working on a Gurbani Media Center. I really feel it will play a big role in everyone's lives, just as sttm is changing how we experience guru ji today. Check it out http://www.sikhnet.com/GurbaniMediaCenter
  12. Where did the ramal trend start off from? I can take a guess but does any body know the details? About the ramala argument... Shouldn't amritdhari parents be tieing dastars on their young ? I know many families that have been tieing dastars on their children from a very young age. Some of these kids are younger than 2 years and yet they still have dastars tied on their heads....not ramalay or patkay No offense intended, just saying
  13. I thought it was pretty good. I have been through similar ordeals and highly recommend that you add as much seva, simran and sangat to your rehit as you can. There are some really awesome videos by Guruka Singh that talk about relationships and such issues. The videos use concepts that are deep yet simple. Good Luck Bro
  14. Maybe it's just me, but hasn't this thread turned into a Rehit Bashing Frenzy? I still don't understand what the committee is doing wrong... I don't like reading tons and tons of text. Can somebody please sum this thread up.
  15. Yeah I agree with Kizarny, just because someone wears jewelery or makeup does not mean that they are being materialistic. I'm not sure what your definition of materialistic is bhenji but this is what I found online, materialistic: a doctrine that the only or the highest values or objectives lie in material well-being and in the furtherance of material progress. We had a similar gurmat vichar recently with some sangat and we concluded that it comes down to your intention. Your personal intention. If you wear makeup or jewellry to attract the opposite sex or to seek attention, one might say you are seeking materialistic gains. But if you wear makeup or jewellry because it truly makes you feel closer to guru ji, then why not ? This issue can be taken deep into our panth. We all do many things for pure attention, while others do them to feel closer to their identity. Not trying to offend anyone, just me ranting away. :BL:
  16. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh You sound like a man in need of some serious help. The obvious direction for you to go is towards your guru. Seva, simran, and sangat with a topping of ardas. What I find interesting here is that you mention it has been 2 and a half years and your still not over it. I think the saying "time heals all wounds" is true but it ONLY if the wound heals properly. If the wound can't heal due to a constant disturbance, it will not heal. If you keep poking at your "wound" with these thoughts and actions, you can be a 90 year old man and still not be over this. Facebooking her profile would count as a great disturbance...heh There is a book called Man to Man by Yogi Bhajan. I think every man should read this book. I have read parts of it and it really explains why we men do the things we do in relation to women and our selves. http://www.spiritvoyage.com/yoga/Man-To-Ma...BKS-009103.aspx Hope that helps bro Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh
  17. Listen to this katha by Yogi Bhajan. It answers all your questions.

  19. How did puratan nihungs get married? I'm guessing but i think parents and elders were the ones that played matchmakers. Does anybody know?
  20. Ya, I agree with poster above. Just listen to the bani coming out of your mouth, even if you don't understand it. Some one told that ur supposed to "tune in" to a different frequency and you're supposed to feel it.
  21. I think Guru ji "came back" with Brahmvidya, shastarvidya and raagvidya
  22. This site explains them clearly. http://www.healer.ch/Chakras-e.html After you've gotten a basic understanding of chakras and their role in our lives, read this article on japji sahib and chakras http://www.3ho.org/clients/3ho/3howebshell...33;OpenDocument Hope it helps :TH:
