I have a very different/weird view on death and life after it and etc., so don't take my word for the truth, this is simply what I think. I don't believe in reincarnation. I interpret this whole "cycle of birth and death" in Guru Granth Sahib to mean the cycle of life a person goes through while they're living. Every day we wake up and we're a different person than who we were yesterday. We go up in life, we go down in life, we're generally unstable. When Guru Sahib says to get away from this cycle, I think he's talking about entering a state a sehaj - a continuous state of mind. In sehaj, there's none of this ups and downs in life crap. Whatever you were yesterday, you are today. You don't change, because you're with the Guru. None of this dukh, sukh, harakh, sog, nindia, ustat, etc matters because you're beyond that now, you're in sehaj. As for life after death in general, well Guru Sahib mentions pretty much everything, doesn't he? Heaven, Hell, reincrnation, a black hole - but does whatever happen after you die really matter? I would think that what you do in this life is more important. You make your own Heaven, you make your own Hell, simply by the way you live your life. Sorry if I said anything anti-Gurmat or pakhandi or something of the sort, I'm still learning. eventhough the intention was right.. i believe they couldve potrayed guru nanak dev jis character a lot better... i personally did not like it either....

veer, i have yet to come across a quote that says this.. in bani .. mata/pita title is given to guru saahib.. that he is our everything.. our mother, father, brother, sister, friend.. our everything..

curious singh jee.. there are prob a lot more reasons for not taking langar home .. i personally do not like taking langar home as i know sometimes it does not get finished and we would have to throw it out.. at least at a gurdwara sangat that come everyday or the raagis that are there than eat the leftover langar.. its a fact that some dun like certain sabjian .. theres nothing wrong wit that.. i dun like dhaal/saag/kari/KHEER & saaviyaan !! .. yes do not ask me why .. i was born in canada prob that is why and i dun like anything with 'malayee' in it .. hehe the best thing to do is get in touch wit local shelters and do seva by bringing in food to them as they would love that !! also your away from your parents singhaa.. so you probably miss indian food 'assumptions' is not a good thing .. we shouldnt assume that this is the only reason why ppl do this .. it brings in wrong conclusions about certain things.. just understand that there can be more than one reason for things.. also .. they use a lot of oil and fattening things in the sabjiaa.. i think there was a whole thread on that once .. hehe
