  1. it is an intresting question that you have come up with though... i think it all boils down to what your view on raagmala is i guess
  2. yes you are a sikh you are a learner, but ones life is a journey from being a sikh who is a learner and tranform into a khalsa who is a all knowing pure being who is one with god Mod Note: Topic has been discussed before. Please do a search.
  3. well alot of gurdwareh at the moment have noly "amritdharis" and they are the biggest thieves more so than moneh etc... they are only concerned with uplifting themshelves with some sort of stratus which they can gain. in my opinion people in the commite ideally should be amritdhari, keshdhari gursikhs, but lets face it we are in kalyug and at this point in time it should be people that are capable of achiving the needs of the sangat, that does not neccasrily mean they should be amritdhari or keshdhari, but they should be right for the job.
  4. iam not talkin bout this topic u pleb, iam onna bout the other ones like the on in poltics section called inder ghagga and there was bout 7 pages of baba thakur singh ji bashin by international akaali and the other nerds, the mods neva closed that topic when the bashin started they closed it after i think, but when iseven one post about akj they quikly close it it was proberly a mistake by them but this does not mean that they are supporters of akj. far as i nno the inder ghagga post people were only claiming baba thakur singh as a lier for saying sant ji will return ( i mtie be wrong) were as the akj posts are taking the mick out of the way they do saas giraas. in my opinion it is far worse to do nindiya of how people remember waheguru , than people aruging about is some 1 is a liar or not. but thats jsut my opinion
  5. were has people bashed baba jarnail singh or baba takhur singh in this topic?
  6. mixed marriages always seem good on paper but in reality do not work. you cannot put 2 cd's in 1 cd player, one will play and the other wont
  7. that is pathetic my friend, you seem to like putting others down to feed your ego, its people like you that drive people away from sikhi. Guru Sahib taught us to have nimirta. were is your nimirta?
  8. start reading bani is a good start even if you do not understand it, but one should move on and do arth of the shabads and learn to do arth and udnerstand the meaning of the shabad. after this stage one should begin to contemplate on the shabad and begin to understand the essence of the shabad. Reading shabads is the beggining stage of sikhi and one should slowly progress onto the other stages to begin to feel the real anand from it. As for amritvela most people willl say between 3 - 6 people who wake up earlier is because of their own hapiness and thirst to do more abhiyaas or bani. Idealy one should do atleast 2 hours seated naam bhagti followed by they nitnem followed by other banis which one wants to recite. If you are new to this i suggest dont begin to wake up 3am straight away as it will not work u will tire yourself out. pace your self e.g start waking at 6 for a week or 2 then slowly start waking up at 5.30 n gradually earlier and earlier
  9. It is a great book and a must read for everyone. It amazing how one can withstand tremendous harships and still live in high sprits with the support of bani

    I've Messed Up

What tarunjeet singh said is right to en extent.. but you can seperate your self from the other sex all together and never see another person of the opposite sex again. but kaam will still enter the mind. The problem comes is when you become to close to a person and start having feelings for them. I'm a firm belvier in grsithi jeevan and running away from the person will not resolve the problem.
  11. We have a women celbrity being bullied in a house and it makes headlines but when uk citizen sikhs are tortured in india it is shoved under the carpet
  12. I did ask my teacher but she said that because Sikhism is a religion that is hardly taught in english schools , it is hard to say. She then looked it up on the exam board's site and they didn't explain much either. So i kind of like left it. But the thing is if you ask my teacher about any other religion - they have the answer!!!!!!!! oh ok well then i suggest give a definition of what god means to sikh's and to you personaly mool mantars a good start and explain each word if u can to the examiner
  13. a 10 mark question for your R.E i also did R.E at school (failed sikhism but passed islam) lol but the thing is how can u explain god?? surerly there isnt no wrong and right answer their... but best thing is ask your teacher and ask them for adivice on what examiners would want
  14. Religion abides in every soul, it is the innermost nature of everything that exists. it is the yearning of man to be perfect. Even without knowing it, we are all moving towards that perfection. Religion is to realize that we are nothing but His naam, to realize that we are nothing but HE. But to most of us religions has become a more of a social symbol, an egotistical issue, where with we have a name to indentify ourshelves. Is it right to hang a picture on the wall, call it our religion and leave it at that?? Religion is with us always within and without. to identify it and realzie it is our duty.
