  1. wjkk wjkf! if u are in uk i would say contact 7721-507055 General Secretary British Sikh Federation PO Box 242, Wolverhampton WV4 5DH, England, UK and see what they are doing about it and help out with it? they are aware of the issue and im sure are planning something? and let us know what they are doing as well thanks bhull chuk muaff karni wjkk wjkf!
  2. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh! i agree with what Heera Singh and Gurbar Akal has said. I would say discuss this with your husband, because after all he knows his family and u both. it seems like he understands the situation, since he is standing up for u and helping u out. also, be more mature thn ur mothr in law, and trying seeing things from ur mom in-laws perspective. yes it sometimes is hard to see things that way...but try it. ask ur self why is she acting all fussy about u moving out? it's normal for a mom to be attached to her son and feel bit angry or jealous when her boy takes the side of his wife instead of someone who raised him. im sure there are many other reasons she feels the way she does. Discussion is the best thing here... one thing that came to my mind was...just go out togther and try to create a better relationship with ur mother-in-law. can i ask u something?...i know they have lost some trust of urs by talking behind ur back and discussing the matter...but have u ever seen ur mother-in-law as ur mother? maybe it's a clash between ur expectations and hers. communication is the key we all know that...but we forget that everyone around us have different views and expectations and we cant GUESS them...they need to be heard and explained by the person. even after explanation...sometimes we misinterpret them. we all have dreams and thoughts about how our life would be in a family(when we have children, mother/father-in-laws, our kids wives/hubbys...what we expect etc etc) tell her what u want/ed, saw or expect/ed in ur relationship with ur mom-in-law (heart to heart talk) it seems like u respected her a lot and did everything she asked u to do....as i said above...i know it's something most of our desi families usually dont do or think is crazy...but maybe sitting with her, and having a light talk about what she looks/ed in a daughter in-law or what her expectations are/were? and how before marriage or even when u got married....how u viewed ur and her relationship to be like? if she into it go out to a restaurant/ movies?(my chachi ji does even after being a mother in law), or someplace fun where u both can relax and not feel ...the way u usually do at home. as u already know, most of the time it's the misunderstanding on both parts that create problem in a relationship...and also no one want to back off or be humble and compromise(u have done it but now u dont want to?). give her respect she deserves cuz she is older, and ask her as a kid/daughter about things. have u ever asked her for advice on things or do u run to ur other mom? if u haven't already... there is a need for u to create some kind of a bond between u and her. try to resolve things with ur sister-in-law as well? even thought these negative feelings that we have inside of us about each other might feel like 'not a big deal' but they are. they build up and cause pain and stress in this worldy and spiritual life. i like the fact that u are thinking about it, and taking your time to think through it. dont make a quick decision...consider all the options. DONT JUST MOVE OUT!thats the worst u can do..and dont move out WITH A FIGHT. relationships are very fragile and we always need the people who are in our lives. read sukhmani sahib... if not all just few Ashtpadehz a day. like Gurbar Akal said... see if there is anything said above that clicks to u, and u think will help u in making ur life and life of others around u more peaceful and loving forgive me for...i might have made lots of judgments on my part to understand the situation to give my opinion let me know if it helps u akal sahai always waheguru ji kakhalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!

  9. Muzumdar im sorry again i was being lazy, and i dont rarely check wikidperdia information....just because it wasnt really something that was recognized as a source in my research classes...so my mind jut skipped that unconsciously.(plus, if i may use a valid excuse, it was really late and i was tired/sleepy)i was using Google to get answers for some of my questions. there was just to much to read and i didnt have time, so i took the easy route to get info and answers. thats the point of forums innit? but thank u so much for taking your time to write all u have and being patient with me. i dont know about anyone else but im learning a lot from this discussion. nevr really got a chance to hear anyone elses views properly or get into a discussion on Naxiliets except what i heard here and there. so most of it is making me expand my mind a lil thank u all=)

  11. what do sikh's believe in? it's funny how we have "Sikh" peoples names as anti-khalistani. there are many who arent comrades but are anti-khalistan anyhow... i been tryin to read more about the movement(Nex) and there are different sources providing different information/stories. reminds me of something most non-sikhs go through to learn about khalistan etc lol i have questions: 1. is Naxalbadi in East or West Bengal? (makes a huge difference to me) 2. Is East Bengal still supporting the west(which is part of india)...kinda like "east and west" punjabi eh? 3. why do they want to change the whole india/or united india?? (dont sikh (khalistanis) want a separate state/nation where Delhi and other parts which consists of most of the india in a way?funny thing is sikhs are divided on this too..." the boundaries of khalistan?" ) 4. what will they/Nax get out of it if india did become socialist? (answer it so the young ones here can know something as well. it's been yrs since i have studied socialism etc at collg) bhul chuk muaf karni wjkk wjkf!
  12. wjkk wjkf! actually there isnt just one translation and u cant really rely on ONLY ONE! also if u at it...might as well listen to or read bhai Gurdas ji's Vaaran...they help a great deal in understanding gurbani. i was recently told about Sardar Gurbachan Singh Talib's translation. they in English and make much more sense. so if u want to get that one as well and compare the translations go for it...nd see which ones helps u get to think about the truth=) as many have said....every time u sit with guru sahib....as u progress meanings will change for u...thats why no ONE translation can give justice to Ellahi bani! (there was a thread where sangat talked about different translations and interpretations i believe. u might get more out of those discussions and find more sources to help u understand gurbani, Run a search here and see if u can find it,such as bhai Veer Singh ji, bhai Randhir Singh ji, Taksal's audios on gurbani vicchaar and many more) but dont stop asking questions or the discussions...they help a great deal...guru sahib gives us hukum to do vichaar of the shabd guru hope this helps bhul chuk muaff karni wjkk wjkf!
  13. ~ok fine it thy dont make ny sense...i'll explain later...out of time at the moment sorry=(

  15. I have the biggest ego thus i suffer :D but here is what i have heard* a guy who studies and practices Tao(Taoism) say: he explained Ego= Edge God Out=). basically God's out of the picture when there is ego. it's an hr long talk he gave on this topic...and it was beautiful! it's when we say i am gonna do this but without seeing that it's by his kirpa i will do this...we get ourselves in trouble. thats when we get hurt...because we have to suffer from the consequences of what "i" did. need to see it as> I really don't have power to do anything... we simply mudd/dummy/statue if there was no soul or "chi"/energy/ light in us. ---- This might be a long read and i am sorry if some of it doesnt make sense to u after reading once... i will try to use gurbani a little to make sense of it time to time. these are the notes i took last year .. thought i would go over them and kinda write them in a proper manner but never got a chance...(even forgot about it) Ego: I am I have I can "By understanding ego, you can reach god's door" Asa ki //: Hau vich ayia hau vich gaya....(should listen to it again) Fear:...it's part of ego. whatever you fear of losing ...God's out of it..because we dont trust god. Mostly we worry about losing people we are attached to even thought as Gurbani tells us, we need to think of souls' we meet in this world as passengers on a train. they have different places to get off, their destination is different then us but for a bit they are going to be in the compartment we are in. if we fall in love with that person who is just traveling with us and think he will be with us forever it is our own foolishness right? because we dont try to understand the whole situation. it is easy to say good bye to someone when in "real" life we traveling with them because we already know its only for few hrs or days we gonna be sitting on a seat next to each other etc etc... we dont really attch ourselves to them in a way where it would be hard to depart...thus wedont lose control when u or that person leaves. its all about the mind how we set it to be. so attachment is kinda lead by ego."i" want that person to stay with me! "battaaoo sio jo laavai naeh ..."http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=910 (Sukhmani sahib) another thing he said was ....whatever you hold in your mind will occur in your life..THATS HOW POWERFUL God is...He lives in us. ...Mind=behavior= action. everything starts from the mind. by understanding gurbani we change our mind...thus our actions ...so we can walk on the path of truth(without the 5vices bothering us or taking control over us) This is what made me think a lot. u know how guru sahib tells us to replace the 5 vices with virtues?(as psychologists of today would tell us that in order to change ur self or change a habit u need to replace it with something else...otherwise it will be very hard to make that change. its beautiful how guru sahib has just done that for us) Ego, attachment, lust, anger, greed...replace um with compassion, Truth, contentment, humility, love..all happen by his grace and i heard this guy say a smiler thing. this is what the person said: when u edge god out you : -bound and Limited (u limit urself...very interesting isn't it? u can't be what u are meant to be..."jin manaas te devte kiya"...nd in reality we have to realize who we are...limitless just like god?) -u start to compare urself with others and then greed starts...with many other ego problems...u want more....or want better cars, big house, beautiful people in ur life whom people can see and be jealous of? He said...replace these... Feeling of existence (I) with > Nothing but just God exists Attached to temporary with> attaching ur self to the Eternal i forgot wht the opposite of this was but i jot down the positive part>...Love...love the world when u see god is all pervading...ur Limited self will become unlimited u will have Hopes and desires-but for the world...whats good for the world/god and will be more at peace umm yea thats it guys...rest of my notes..i just cant read um cuz i wrote um down on a very small peace of paper and cant make out some of the words is there a punch line? umm no not really just read it and see what u think of it....and make ur own conclusions just my random thoughts of what i heart last year sorry if i wasted ur time...but i hope there is something u will get out of it. it was kind of hard for me collect my thoughts and make more sense of what i just wrote. forgive me listen, recite, discuss gurbani is wht i get out of whenevr i listen to people of faith and who have realized something thats with in i just hope this helps someone here. may guru sahib does kirpa on us and the talks/chats change into actions and hope our mind truly starts to think nd see things from guru sahibs perspective. easier said then done wjkk wjkf!

  20. delighted to read this thread=) hmm i thought our punjabis just used that term for Naxalites u know how they call singh=sio or person from England=Valayti lol i always heard um say Naxalbariya ne eh kita or oh kitta..didnt really know Lahaar got it's name from a village in Bengal. (do i need to translate it in English Muzumdar?) joking...i hope u'll forgive me for my laziness and not really writing in English as i should have. thx and im sure there are some "members" of Naxalites who think all SIKH ARE AGAINST THEM because what PM Manmohan Singh stated on his appointment! one question though to Muzumdar...arent/weren't Nazalites in punjab(i dont know about any other place) called Comrade? we just need to keep our eyes open ...and may guru sahib bless us with Man neevaaah te Matt Ucchi bhul chuk muaf karni Akal sahai wjkk wjkf!
