  1. Firstly sincere condolences to the family. It is not my intention to kick a fellow Singh when they are down I was simply stating a fact. kh@ls@ if you are close to the family you will be aware of Rubens lavish lifestyle and you yourself can comment if he is a good role model for our young brethren. Oh and just for the record this is the 2nd time he has liquidated a company maybe even the 3rd. Pool chook maff.
  2. Outside the industry Ruben Singh has always had people admiring him. The opposite for people who knew his business ethics - Deffinatly not Sikh orientated shall we say! The Kirtanies that were brought over from India were brought over by Bawa Kholi from Siri Guru Harkrishan Gurdwara, Manchester. They happened to stay round Ruben's house for a while.
  3. The Kara is a very important Sikh symbol and a constant reminder to me to do good More important than her Kesh!
  4. Well here we go .... In my opinion it is Sarika who is a disgrace and narrow minded towards our religion - my question would be does she deserve to wear a karra? People who oppose such things as in this instance with this school teacher will have a good background in our faith - they will know that one of the primary facts about Sikhi is to keep our hair uncut - if this simple fact is compromised do you not think the teacher is with in their right to ask Sakira to remove her Karra which technically is not worn because of her religion? Would the situation be the same if it were a Kesdari Singh with Kaakar? Personally I believe not. Admin please delete if you feel the post will start wars! I am a hater of pakhandi Singhs - attending Gurdwara Sahibs, matahtek and rubbing their nose 5 times yet are clean shaven. How much more disrespectful can you get?
  5. I do MMA Veer. I had a couple of competitive fights but found it unpractical for day to day living - ie coming to work with broken nose and bruised eyes. What i did was use a small karra under my glove then use the hand tape to seal the glove to my hand. For my Kesh I used a rugby scrum cap with a small 2" kirpan inside as you would with a dumala. As mentioned it does work but very unpractical - More from a phsycological ie if you get dropped on your head you have the scare of being impaled or if you're in an arm bar the pressure applied could be in the position of your karra causing alot of discomfort - believe me I know! And tapping is not what a Singh does! I now train harder than I used to when competing but spar more. When sparing who ever is your partner understands your faith and where not to strike.
  6. Manmat and Gurmat - Guru Mahraj here I place my manmat siss, please give me Gurmat.
  7. Sikha - I agree with all my heart that Sikhi is not only about keeping kesh - "Rhet pirai muj kho ..." But on the same sentence in today's kaljug it is becoming increasingly difficult for our younger generation to distinguish what is right and what is wrong because of the influence of this type of media. My 6 year old son watched the same video and his reaction was "papa how come when we go Gurdwara Sahib you tell me to take my socks of before going into the Darbar but that guy sings about us but does'nt keep his Kesh?" My reaction was go and ask you're Bebe! We have a Roop that we must keep, if we encourage people to move away from our Roop then what do we have left? Add another dimension - all the sacrifices that our forefathers have made technically have not been made soully for Sikhi (the religion) - there is an element of our Roop - Sikhi could of survived as a religion without its Roop - It would of blended away with our Hindu Veer and our Muslim Veer. We stood strong we stood fast to say this is who we are, this is what we believe and we are prepared to give our life for it. M
  8. Just to add regarding the respect issue - my thoughts are the people in the wrong is certainly not the singer - IMHO it is the people condoling the song - IE the Nihang Singhs, the backing singers etc - IMHO they are in a worse position knowing that the singer needs some help from Gursikhs yet from where I'm sitting they made no attempt to but infact encouraged by supporting.
  9. Fateh Veero This video is a classic example of how much Sikhs respect Guru Mahraj, how much money Sikhs can make from singing about our history and how we as Sikhs are so gullible. People like this should not be shot or beaten, they should be taught - if they sing lyrics that are so meaning full my only guess is that the singer does not understand what he is singing - therefore should be taught. This is how we can slowly eliminate threats to our Sikhi - or infact MY Sikhi ! M

Manmukhs (like me) will only learn when Gurmukhs accept their role in Sikhi and teach us instead of only preach!

FAO - Manmit - Says the person with a bob marley quote after a quote from Guru Mharaj - Veer - If you cant say anything constructive to help the fight against Sikhi why being a Sikh are you advocating the issue? Instead of nurturing a fellow Singh in help lets all take the mick out of him so he goes further into his shell !! This post is typically what is happening in our community up and down the country - Singhs instead of being humble feel that they are in a higher class to "Monee Veer's" Is this right? Help the poor soul who has lost Sikhi, help them find Sikhi. Let me ask people who have posted on this forum - If a Singh asked the same question to Guru Mahraj, or Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Ji or Bhai Sahib Bhai Amolak Singh Ji would they get an answer back like "i got a solution u fake" or"Use this >> ps: fake thread." Please help our nation, please help Sikhi. Manjit

Heres one for you guys - I was in Delhi a while back and I had some Kheer on my moustache - a Paaji said to me "Teri ttidh te chirie bethi pai hai" (litterly translated as there is a bird on your stomach) to which I started rubbing my stomach - yes I was the brunt of all jokes there after ...
  14. Fateh Veer! A friend of mine had a simular problem, we suggested all sorts but none of them seemed to work. At the end as a joke a young Singh said instead of getting a smaller Kirpan why not get a bigger one? Ridicules as it may seem My Veer now sleeps with an 11" taksali kirpan, yet goes to work with a 4" !! Try it, give us your feed back so we will be able to teach/help others. M

Fateh Veer - I am glad that you took the steps to share your problem with us - Although I am disappointed at some of the naive and juvenile responses. I have a simular problem, my moustache tends to get in the way while drinking tea! I have found that the shockwaves purple gel works very well for me. My procedure is to take a pea size amount in the palm of my hand, rub it into my fingers then apply to my moustache . After this hair dryer it in place. It stays fixed but does not looked stuck if that makes sense. Try it, see how you feel. Although you may feel tidier by trimming on the same hand you feel guilty - hence your post. Try the gel method, if that does not work I'm sure saadh sanget will provide another solution. Fateh. Ps Sangat Ji - If you cant post anything responsible or sensible dont post. A Singh needs our help - not to be ridiculed. M
  16. paaji, Just to add Maharaj Ji's Saroops are always or should always) be rotated. The 10 Saroops that you mentioned will never sit for longer than say 10 days. After Sukhasan another will be prepared for the next Prakash. Or atleast that is what should happen! M
  17. Paaji, I saw them but they are the small ones. The ones I'm looking for are around 6/8 beads ish and are for an adult wrist.
  18. Fateh! Do we have any conformations re. which keertainis are attending? M
  19. Fateh !! Where can i get the large manekh sarabloh maala's from? not large in length large in diameter ? UK would be nice but dont mind mail order M
  20. Veer, If you are from Newcastle come to Gurdwara Khalsa Mero Roop Hai Khas, South Shields.
  21. My Papa Ji used to say, "Jis Singh Guru dha sakha nehi hai, kisi dha sakha nehi hai" ... Any Singh that is not true to his own Guru can never be true to anyone.
