  1. happy b'day...May guru ji bless you with all of the above and sewa.. bhul chuk maaf!
  2. Well Said Rochak Ji! Nirmarta is a priceless virtue...
  3. He needs to take a chill pill! Obviously he is not proud of his sikh identity and wishes to make reference to caste as oppose to the Khalsa...
  4. I think your shaster should be one that you can use. I wear an 11 inch sarabloh kirpan 24/7 - to work, sleep, gym..everywhere. The only time my kirpan gets smaller is when I am a passenger on an aeroplane. And of course it gets bigger to when it comes to kirtans! Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  5. Brave Khalsa's advice is spot on.. I had an interview with the University Air Squadrons and was rejected because I was told I appeared to independent. Somehow, you have to come across as someone that will not challenge authority because when you are given orders, you are expected to obey them as oppose to question them.. The may also ask you moral questions like: 'If you are ordered to bomb a civilian town and you know there are civilians present what would you do?' I wish I knew what the right answer to that is..but I think they ask you questions like that because if you have really high morals and contemplate too much they think you will challenge orders.. What I can tell you is that the army what people who they can mentally develop to their way of thinking... The only other thing I can think to suggest is: dress smart Hope that helps.. All the best for your interview!
  6. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, but there are MANY "moderate" Muslims out there who believe in our right to be Sikh as much as they are Muslim. We shouldn't paint an entire religion with one brush. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I totally agree. We cannot tarnish the religion because of some bad apples. My apologies for not being clear on that point... Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  7. I wouldn't say we hate muslims or the religion inherently. More the fact that we hate their extreme views that supress the freedom of others. And that is what our guru's fought over also... Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  8. He's extremely confused. To make that comparison he's obviously lost the plot!
  9. I totally agree...I have seen this happen to Sikh girls, all because they want to 'fit in' and have a boyfriend!
  10. http://64.4.14.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=EN...com%2f84geno%2f Sangat ji, The above should be the correct link. Please sign for the 1984 saheeds Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  11. Dhillon Ji, Please don't get angry...it will get you know where, but I think I know where the comes from. It's frustration. Frustration because you feel helpless and don't know what to do.. On Thursday, I found out this singh I work with, who has a lovely full grown long flowing beard drinks alcohol. (clearly he is not much of a Singh) For me to even think this man would disgrace such a lovely mane made me go all cold. But what can we do? When we were younger we would take karai or khanday off people that smoked or drunk but that still did not achieve anything! It was like  @ For some youth they want it all. They want the bad boy gangster image associated with Singhs because they are known not to take any <admin-profanity filter activated> and they also want the street bad boy image which is associated with R&B, Hip Hop etc. If only they would realise the most supreme image is that of the Khalsa, the roop of Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh JI...and to accept this image means you would receive countless blessings... I guess all we can do is ardaas that guru sahib continues to bless us with sikhi..and keep us away from all the vices in Kulyugh! I hope Guru Ji continues to bless you Dhillon JI and if your brother cannot see the light, well, I guess it's his loss. Bhull Chuk Maaf!
  12. Sorry Sangat Ji, I erased the link after I posted this I will have to get it and re-post it or something.. Bhul Chuk Maaf!

  14. Saheed Bhai Fauja Singh said the same thing. He said Sikh blood will be split every 20-25 (I can't recall the exact time scale he gave) because Sikhs have become lazy. But's its great that we as the next generation are picking up on these issues. At least with Guru Ji's kirpa we won't make the same mistakes our elders and leaders made. I strongly believe if we can educate our generation then we can have a stronger future. After all we will grow to be elders and some of us leaders. And I also think we need more educated professional Singhs and Singhnia in the professions and in the public eye. I think that would help to educate the masses on what true sikhi is. A lot of people are confusing it with panjabi culture, bhangra and stuff. Bhull Chuk Maaf!
  15. Isn't that incest? That's crazy.... ewww Surely you don't need to marry someone to take care of them...
  16. Although the singh looks smart, I definately agree with you bhenji!
  17. Yes, when faced with the ultimate choice Chahal sided with his dastar. And that is definately admirable.
  18. Vaneet Singh, I know exactly what you are saying. I am far from perfect, hence my making fun of the 'gay pose'. Being asked to take you Dastar of in public is something that cannot be described in words because that is a BIG insult. But you have to understand that by taking your dastar into a disco or club is also a hugh insult to Guru Sahib also. It is your decision to go to such places, but to wear guru sahib's nashani and do the same..well, you will have to account for those actions. Bhull Chuk Maaf!
  19. 'Reception' refers to the meal/party after the wedding. Gursikh wedding don't really have 'receptions' And yes, i know Kulwant Singh but I won't be there
  20. Clearly you have nothing to say to my post..concerning my comments on the turban issue. I know about gays, because I have met many at work. So I recognise gay poses. I would suggest you re-read my post, which quotes your post. Take care to note, the word 'something' does not appear in yout text. I am aware you asked something. And I answered it.
  21. I meant that for daughter of dasam pita, who I assume and hope is a bhenji Not you dear Kandola Veer Ji
  22. Did I say guru sahib allowed smart comments on the pics? I didn't think so
  23. I agree that is definately some GAY pose! and as for the comments made by Ravneet.. NO ONE is supporting discrimination of a turban. I can guarantee that much. Let me just clarify that sticking to the fundamentals of a religion does not make you narrow minded. The fact remains that Chahal was also disgracing Guru Sahib's crown by going to that club regardless of whether he meant to drink or not. The respect for you crown (i.e. your dastar) sikhi and rehat should go above all else. And no, that is not narrow mindedness, that is the way it is. Guru Sahib gave us this nashani and said 'khalsa mero roop hai kaas'. I highly doubt guru sahib would walk into a club to socialise so I can't see any justifications for anyone else wearing Guru Sahib's crown to do the same. Had Chahal been going anywhere else and been refused entry, then I <admin-profanity filter activated> ure you he would have had the sympathy of this forum. Guru Sahib works in mysterious way, maybe he was refused entry because guru sahib did not want his crown disgraced. Only Guru sahib knows... Bhul Chuk Maaf!
