  4. PS. The facebook link is now "unavailable" so I don't know exactly what they wrote about Kam Singh, but I truly hope it wasn't a personal attack.
  5. Look guys, this is typical Davy Bal tactics. I have personally worked close with Davy Bal for a while and although he's a very "interesting" character, he wouldn't put Kam or anyone that helps him out in a line of fire. That I am pretty sure of. By "banning" Kam from the Sikh Channel, he will put his case forward to Ofcom that he has taken active steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. If he blames the presenter, there's not a lot Ofcom can do about it. I do wish Davy Bal would just communicate PROPERLY with his team but this has been a long time problem of his and he always fails to do t
  6. Well I think we need to stand with Sikh Channel when it comes to this because they didn't do anything wrong. Infact, they done what was being asked of them by so many people to talk about these issues. It would be an injustice in itself if they did get fined and they won't be fining the channel, they will be fining the viewers, the sangat who contribute their earnings towards the channel.

  8. My point was, you don't have to be a "raagi" to be able to sing mantras or keertan. But agreed, there's limits to that. If you talk about what those limits are, then we will go around in circles forever on this forum because everyone will have their own idea on where to draw the line. Big respect to those that do sing in pure raag compositions though and I personally think everyone should learn raags. I just don't feel it should excuse those that don't, from singing Gurbani.
  9. Just out of curiosity, do you think people like Bhagat Namdev and others who were poor and uneducated always repeated God's name and done simran, keertan in the raags? But I do have to add, it's a shame to see such tracks such as this out there on the net. Trance and dance do not go with Gurbani. The filmi music some of you guys refer to are from really old puraatan reetaan as well, just because Bollywood produces use these reetaan, does not necessarily mean they originated from the filmi world.

  13. Every weekend, Gurdwaras take saroops to someones house (or even business place) for akhand paaths, sehaj paaths, sukhmani sahib paaths etc. These residences or businesses aren't checked prior to Maharaj being brought there. Some Gurdwaras who have respect and sense, do advise the families that they need to remove all sign of alcohol and meat before Maharaj gets there, but they are very few. Sangat in UK won't react to someone having a wedding at their house for those reasons because... well, it happens every single week anyway. Not saying it's right, not at all. I think we have enough extrav
