  3. Anyone know when the khanda first emerged? Also how has it evolved throughout the centuries?
  4. Just wondering when we started using the khanda? And who introduced it? Was looking at some old paintings and Nishan Sahib was different.
  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I'm interested in learning about the origins of the Khanda, which is today the symbol of the Sikh Panth. There is no mention of it in any puraatan accounts, nor any representation of it in Sikh art before the mid-20th century. Nor was it depicted on the Nishaan Sahib - the only symbols carried on the flag of the Sikh Nation were three shastar - a dhal (shield), a katar (punch dagger) and a tulwar sword. This is evident from old Sikh paintings, as well as the gold engravings at Sri Darbar Sahib dating back to the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Who

  8. wjkkwjkf Sorry, if someone feels the question as weird. Is there any specific rehat maryada on how to handle Khanda sahib or kada sahib. Does these need to be avoided getting dirty and in case it gets dirty should we wash it thoroughly thinking that it is sacred. Shall we avoid touching khanda sahib or kada sahib with dirty hands? I have khanda sahib with a chain hanging in my car and just wanted to confirm if I should avoid touching it with dirty hands and clean it often?
  9. Having seen pictures of the Shaheedi jatha heading towards Jaito , it is clear the Blue Nishan with Katar Dhal and Kirpan was used , so when exactly did the new symbology enter into existence and who introduced it and what was their reasoning because I could find anything wrong with our own Nishan Sahib ? I have read read that this has elements which correspond with ancient babylonian symbology which the freemasons are into.(moon symbol) and looking at Rattrays khanda symbol it is not really clear about the thinking behind it .

    Question About Khanda Sahib

SSA Ji. It seems to be a weird question but I am still looking for some answers: How should we treat Khanda Sahib? Just like utmost respect like Guru Granth Sahib Ji? Some people wear it, some hang in their cars, some install it as a sticker on their cars. I have installed it in my car in the rear view mirror. When it comes to cleaning it, I usually clean it with clean cloth or tissue paper. Is it a disrespect if I clean it with regular cloth that I use to clean the car? On the other hand when I look at people who paste Khanda Sahib as a sticker on their car and when they wash it, it i

  12. Waheguru ji ka khalsaa Waheguru ji ki Fateh! 1) Can anybody explain what does the khanda - double edge sword in the middle represent? I read somewhere that it was about birth and death. 2) How can we do sanskaar of hair in western countries? I keep saving them rather than throwing. 3) How should I wash Sarabh Loh utensils? I also really wanted to understand the whole Sarabh loh maryaada if that is available anywhere. I come from a family where food is not made by true Gursikhs or in Sarabh Loh utensils. So will it still be possible for me to keep the full maryada? 4) I heard many Gursikh
