  1. So during amritvela last night I started my naam simran and about 30 mins into I could feel a pull in the middle of forehead. Then all of sudden I start spinning like the conscious in my head is spinning. And I'm still repeating vaheguru, it felt very good and very uplifting but my question is.. is this normal and does this mean I'm progressing ?
  2. I am asking this question as I am unsure as to whether Shaheed Singh's or Kaur's actually get mukht/liberated from becoming shaheed, as Gurbani provides no evidence of this? I understand that the Chali Mukte got liberated by Satguru Sri Gobind Singh Ji, and other shaheeds like Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. But lets forget puratan times because I know all the shaheeds then were brahm gianis but what about from 1984 and ownards? The reason I am asking this is because I recently attended an akath katha where the guy was standing up and explaining how to meet Vaheguru through Gurbani. He even went to explain what manmat is, showing a presentation slide full of manmat 'tools' like a mala and presented Gurbani pangtiya which state and show that using a mala is wrong. However what struck me most is when the guy doing the katha clearly stated that someone who becomes 'shaheed' will not get liberated and not meet Truth, as they have not recognized naam. As before, he presented the Gurbani pangti to prove what he is saying. I can't remember the pangti in Gurmukhi but it translates in English to something like "and they who die on the battlefield, will also not become liberated". It translated to something along those lines. I personally think that he misused the pangti to suit his own needs for the sake of the presentation. But thats what I want to know, is it true that a Shaheed won't get mukht? Is he just dying for the sake of the panth? However before I heard many times that Guru Gobind Singh Ji said something along the lines of "He who dies fighting for the panth will instantly get a throne in my kingdom, or God's kingdom" even though I haven't found a direct source to this. Is this true? Did Satguru Ji say this? I'm surprised nobody in the sangat spoke out against this, they all seemed to be under some kind of control as they guy seemed pretty intimidating to say the least.

  4. There are several ways to do Naam Jaap. Saint and Bhagats connect with the almighty by remembering Akal Purakh Wahe Guru. There is no best way to connect with God but useful tips come in handy when a person is just starting out. Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh in his book Gurmukh Sikhiya provides some ways to make it easier to do Naam Jaap. Bhai Vir Singhs helpful advice comes from puratan Singhs whove reached the ultimate stage of Naam Jaap and felt Wahe Guru. 1) Rest is important Bhai Vir Singh recommends getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep everyday. He says if the body is rested only then you can spiritually be healthy enough to connect with Wahe Guru. 2) Healthy Diet Its important to have a simple and healthy diet. He states its important to not eat heavy foods and important to maintain a healthy diet. He recommends preventing constipation with a balanced diet. 3) Kesh Ishnaan twice a week. Bhai Vir Singh states that its very important to wash your hair at least once a week and recommends twice. 4) Satsang One must do Satsang with Sadh Sangat as Guru is always found among the Sangat. 5) Do Naam Jaap with Rasna, positive thoughts Naam simran will automatically start to happen once it gets absorbed in the mind and body. Rhythm and concentration will take it time but continuous sessions of naam jaap will cause it to be consistent and automatic. This is when Naam Maala will become day and night and you will be doing Naam Simran 24/7. 6) Stay away from bad influences Its important to stay away from negative influences and people. 7) Reaching higher stage A person will realize when he/she has reached an out of body stage. Once this stage is reached, its important to be careful when taking a leap into the next stage. To avoid feelings of hunger, its important to eat a good diet. 8) Prevent Imagination from running wild A person must not ponder and stay away from creating unnecessary imagination that can steer person away from Naam Simran. Love of Wahe Guru must always increase and desire to do more Naam has to continue. Once a person has achieved higher levels of Naam Jaap, its important to help others connect and obtain a higher lever of spirituality. Those who do Seva and help others connect with Wahe Guru are the ideal GurSikhs. These are the people who are blessed and bless others. 6. In Memory of Shahibzadey Shaheedi, Naam Simran Smagam is happening at Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Walsall, West-Midlands. Sangat Ji, We are fast approaching the 'festive season' again this year, but what does this time of the year really mean for Sikhs? This is the time of the year that one of the biggest sacrifices in history was given by our father Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. In the month of Poh Maharaj sacrificed his four sons, his mother and countless Sikhs in the name of dharam. This was the fulfilment of a promise Guru Gobind Singh Ji made in 1699 when he, as Guru, knelt down in front of the Panj Pyaare and begged them for the gift of Amrit. The Panj asked Guru Sahib what he will give to receive this Amrit and Maharaj said they will sacrifice their entire family to get this divine gift. In memory of this Baljit Singh will be doing a daily katha over 13 Days telling the full story. This is part of the Naam Simran Smagam being held at the Gurdwara. Full details are below please be sure to attend! 19th December to 31st December. Daily smagam program: morning Simran 5am-6am & evening simran 7am-8pm 13 Larivaar Shaheedi Katha 8pm-8.30pm Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Rollingmill Street, Walsall, WS2 9EQ Maharaj has given and today continues to give so much for us, this time of year is a perfect time for us all to reflect on what we have really sacrificed to Maharaj. Please make effort to attend and share with others, it is so important that we all know about this chapter in our history!

  9. The Anand Sahib is a collection of hymns in Sikhi, written in the Ramkali Raag by Guru Amar Das, the third Guru of the Sikhs. The word Anand means complete happiness. ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੋ ॥੪॥ साचा नामु मेरा आधारो ॥४॥ Sācẖā nām merā āḏẖāro. ||4|| The True Name is my only support. Ang 917 ?? Dhan Dhan Guru Amardas ji

    Anxiety And Meditation !

WJKK WJKF everybody! I just have a simple question to ask does Meditating help control anxiety ?? I have a shy type of personality i dont open up to easily... I believe it might be caused by my anxiety!....help a brotha out ! Thanks in advance !
  13. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ ਜੀ । When I jap naam for a long time, then say do Ardaas, my head automaticaly randomly twitchs sometimes etc. Do others experience this? If so why does it occur?
  14. Does anyone know who the writer of this is? Does any one have a written version? Also, can some provide the "lyrics" sung in this poem by Bhai Gopal Singh along with translations of each line. I understand most of it, but some lines by my current understanding don't really make sense.
  15. Wjkk Wjkf Is it true.. that specific pauris and gurubanis have specific effects and powers.. For instance it says that if you read the 25th pauri you will obtain wealth, need , virtue , estate .. or pauri 33 which supposedly elimates your karmas, or 38 gives you the knowledge and power to write your own destiny.. And jaap sahib; rouses your soul and allows you to obtain ridi sidi powers... So do specific banis and or specific pauris have such an effect, or should we just mediate on God and ask him for whatever we need? The effect of pauri and banis was written by yogis bhajan Singh.. aren't Sikhs against yogis and thier ways? So is he correct in what he says about the bani and its effects? Or is their an misconception? All help from gyanis, and other enlightened people will be very much appreciated thanks you.
  16. Quick question does using ridi sidi stop your spirtaul growth.. or is it still possiabable to obtain sach khand or must you wait another lifetime? Eg someone uses their ridi sidi but he or she doesn't show what he has obtained ( no ego) can this person still obtain sach khand and salvation?
  17. Waheguru Here is a great english katha on how to earn NAAM
  18. I was recently wandering while doing ardas -hoping waheguru ji will help in this world with many things. But then out of no where I just thought to myself that if I want to attain something in this world then it will come through Rudi sidhi powers( which guru ji prohibits us from using, as it inhibits our spirtality) - is that true?? So my question is when doing ardas for asking prayers to be ansawered are we in anyway using ridi sidi powers or will waheguru ji helps attain what we want without us using our powers (through the blessing of waheguru ji blesses us with) - I ask this because I don't want to lose my waheguru ji and the level of spirituality I have attained but I still want some of my prayers answered.
  19. I was asking this question because I heard of a great sant named Bhai Manj who after becoming a Sikh suffered through a lot of problems, but still kept his Sikhi as part of him, Guru Arjun Dev Ji warned Bhai Manj of following this path but he still followed the Guru. Next Bhai Manj falls into a pit, and his(Guru Arjun Dev Ji) Hukam was that the wood not fall, Bhai Manj kept the wood high, and when he was rescued Guru Arjun Dev Ji asked what has being Sikh given you and Bhai Manj replied that he had received the gift of NAAM through the GURU. So this Sakhi goes to prove something very important that modern Sikhs are diluted to hear"All religions aren't equal" if you have something to add, please do.

    Attaining Naam?

wjkk wjkf ive heard that you can only do bhagti and recieve the gurmanter after taking amrit, and bhagti can only ever start after taking amrit, i have taken amrit but i have broken it, but i still follow rehat, keep my punj kakar, do my nitnem, read gurbani and do naam japna and everything and im planning on going pesh as soon as i can but i will have to wait until i leave home (long story) my question is has my bhahti started and have i attained the gurmanter or did i lose that when i broke my amrit? waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
  21. This is a question for all the sikhs including myself are we really sikhs or just known to be sikhs. How is our relation going on with god? Do we meditate on GOD? OR WE are stuck in getting a different nation? Does every sikh understands Gurbani? Why do sikhs don't respect other religions? Whereas GURU sahib respected every religion. You meditate on the Lord, and chant the Lord's Name, O my merchant friend. You contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and meditating on it within the fire of the womb, your life is sustained by dwelling on the Naam. You are born and you come out, and your mother and father are delighted to see your face. Remember the One, O mortal, to whom the child belongs. As Gurmukh, reflect upon Him within your heart. Says Nanak, O mortal, in the first watch of the night, dwell upon the Lord, who shall shower you with His Grace. ||1|| In the second watch of the night, O my merchant friend, the mind is attached to the love of duality. Mother and father hug you close in their embrace, claiming, ""He is mine, he is mine""; so is the child brought up, O my merchant friend. Your mother and father constantly hug you close in their embrace; in their minds, they believe that you will provide for them and support them. The fool does not know the One who gives; instead, he clings to the gift. Rare is the Gurmukh who reflects upon, meditates upon, and within his mind, is lovingly attached to the Lord. Says Nanak, in the second watch of the night, O mortal, death never devours you. ||2|| In the third watch of the night, O my merchant friend, your mind is entangled in worldly and household affairs. You think of wealth, and gather wealth, O my merchant friend, but you do not contemplate the Lord or the Lord's Name. You never dwell upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, who will be your only Helper and Support in the end. This wealth, property and Maya are false. In the end, you must leave these, and depart in sorrow. Those whom the Lord, in His Mercy, unites with the Guru, reflect upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Says Nanak, in the third watch of the night, O mortal, they go, and are united with the Lord. ||3|| In the fourth watch of the night, O my merchant friend, the Lord announces the time of departure. Serve the Perfect True Guru, O my merchant friend; your entire life-night is passing away. Serve the Lord each and every instant-do not delay! You shall become eternal throughout the ages. Enjoy ecstasy forever with the Lord, and do away with the pains of birth and death. Know that there is no difference between the Guru, the True Guru, and your Lord and Master. Meeting with Him, take pleasure in the Lord's devotional service. Says Nanak, O mortal, in the fourth watch of the night, the life-night of the devotee is fruitful. ||4||1||3|| May we all go back to our innocent child hood moment in the womb and jaap naam with unbroken current (naam liv). Vahiguroo, very beautiful video and beautiful shabad put things in perspective.
