Wireless router is basically a box you attach to your broadband or ADSL modem. This then transmits signals to devices which have wireless capability (like a laptop). So you can use the internet anywhere in your house (in theory). Many people in your house can share the connection (and even your neighbours if you do not set it up properly).

Port Replication is just like a docking station. It has common PC ports like serial and parrallel. So you can use connect your non portable devices to the port rep and then just plug in your laptop to use them.
