That Time Of Night

I look outside my window,

on this dark n mysterious night.

Its raining and its pouring,

and the street lights are shining bright.

Theres no one around,

theres no one in sight

Its just me and the darkness,

Standing in moonlight.

I turn to my room,

its looking lonely and cold.

I need someone here with me

Just someone here to hold.

The tears begin to roll,

As I approach my nights bed.

“Why do I have to be alone?

I’d rather just be dead!”

But then the rain suddenly stops,

And the wind turns into breeze.

My legs suddenly collapse

And I fall down to my knees.

I cant get up,

Whats happened to me?!

I cant move an inch!

What could this be?!

But then my eyes look towards my dressing table

And I notice the time on the clock.

Its now early in the morning,

And all I can hear is “tick tock”.

A strange sensation surrounds me,

I don’t feel alone any more.

My teeth begin to clatter,

As the tears begin to pour.

Theres someone there…

Not one, not two.

Theres someone there!

I don’t know what to do.

Then they begin to whisper,

As the shadows begin to move.

They are whispering something to me.

It sounds like… Vaheguroo.

The fright all fades away,

As my eyes open wide.

Its now early in the morning…

Its now that special time.

When the Shaheed Singhs awaken early

To sing and chant His praise.

And I realise how I never was alone

Because Im always in his embrace.

No matter where I go,

No matter night or day.

I smile and feel happy now

As I wipe the tears away.

I sit back and listen

To the voices in a cappella

I feel enlightened and in tune,

With the sounds of Amrit vela.

Ive been a moorakh, my Maharaj,

To forget you are always with me.

I beg for your forgiveness

And know you’ll never leave me.

Now these tears still roll every night,

But they roll in rejoice of your light.

Because, no matter what may happen

Or what others may do.

I will still sing your glorious glorious name…
