Some rehit marayade specifically say we shud stick to colours like kesri, white, black, blue... and avoid red and green....

Before people start saying this is fanatical and stuff this is how i interpret it...

Firstly, Khalsa has its uniform.... blue is probably the most 'Khalsa' colour. Then other colours have different connotations such as Kesri = Sheehdi, white = pure....

Reason for not red is firstly because of what the colour red represents and possibly triggers in ur mind... we all know the colour red comes out on valentines day.. y is that?...its because of the relationship between the colour red and the emotions it trys to create. Colours like green are largely related to Muslims....

at the end of the day we wana wear the uniform of the Khalsa and also we shud look to dress simply... thus white, blue and black are popular... i suppose kesri is the one a bit out there but that has special conotations....

So most people will stick to the 'Khalsa' colours. In terms of the dastaar most gursikhs would just wear blue.... im sure there is literature out there that explains the reasons for this...

Bhul chuk maaf
