Sikhs Not Allowed To Wear Turbans In France.

I am seriously ticked off by certain unnecessary laws across the world, being unfairly forced onto Sikhs all because of muslim fundamentalists and muslim terrorists.

Sikh turbans will be forbidden by a new law banning religious symbols in public schools in FRANCE. :D

France's tiny Sikh community was forgotten when experts and lawmakers held marathon debates on whether to ban religious symbols in classrooms to counter what authorities say is the growing influence of Muslim fundamentalists in the nation's schools.

The law that followed, passed overwhelmingly, bans conspicuous religious signs and apparel in schools starting next year. It explicitly forbids Jewish skullcaps, large Christian crosses and Islamic head scarves.

Secularism was later embedded in the constitution as a guiding principle that authorities say is now threatened by the rise of Muslim fundamentalism in public schools. There are loads of muslim fundamentalists in france…. But what the heck has that got to do with Sikhs? :umm:

The Sikh Army fought in every major operation during World War 1. Letters home from soldiers on the Western Front offer extraordinary insight into their feelings about the conflict and impressions of European culture.

In the last two world wars 83,005 Sikh soldiers were killed and 109,045 were wounded. They died or were wounded for the freedom of Britain and FRANCE and the world and during shell fire, with NO OTHER PROTECTION BUT THEIR TURBANS, A SYMBOL OF SIKH FAITH.

In FRANCE, A large number of those killed in Neuve Chappel were Sikhs - men, whose forefathers had fought for the FREEDOM of FRANCE.

Today, the Sikh community in France deeply hurt at being denied the right to wear their headgear in schools. FRANCE NEED TO RESPECT SIKHS, THEIR RELIGION AND THE MEMORY OF THEIR MEN WHO FOUGHT FOR THEIR COUNTRY.

FRANCE HAVE BEEN reminded that forefathers of the Sikhs who laid their lives for France are not being allowed to wear turbans in schools, yet the selfish French continue to ignore this fact. FRANCE would be under german rule if it wasnt for Sikhs, they wouldnt be munchin on their frogs legs and trying to va va voom everyone so they should stop and recognise.

NO SIKH SHOULD BE ASKED TO TAKE HIS TURBAN OFF. SIKH SOLDIERS DIED ON FRENCH SOIL WEARING THEIR TURBANS. SIKHS ARE NOT MUSLIMS, THEY DON’T FOLLOW FANATICAL MUSLIM BELIEFS. SIKHS DO NOT SUPPORT TERRORISM.

SIKHS CAN DIE FOR FRANCE BUT THEY CANT ENTER A SCHOOL?

MORE THAN 80,000 SIKHS DIED SO THAT FRANCE CAN HAVE ITS FREEDOM.

right now.... im disliking the french very much.

^ What are you talking about nobody cares, man? A lot of people care, The turban is a necessity for a Sikh. Also, do you know how many demonstrations have been held in India, France, etc. It's almost just like you said ridiculous that this is even an issue.

Now, The French government isn't listening to anyone, they're just too damn stubborn. The only thing to do is keep doing what we are doing, let Akal Purakh handle it, or take the matters into really personal matter, like gun down all the government? Do you think that's going to happen?! I highly doubt it. I say all religions should work together on this matter, it's not ONE religion affected by it, it's ALL religions!

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
