How do you keep in timing with a tabla?

learn how to play shanay (or karthalaa)...once you get the beat down the timing is easier.

Also listen to the Gurbani being sung. It helps in keeping the beat because you can judge where the taal starts depending on the tune the Kirtanee is using and the Gurbani being sung.

Sum is shown by the flashing of a red light on the tabla, so you know where it is. I think maybe Bina music shop does it Amardeep Bro, I got mine in India, if you need one, PM me, might be going soon.

thats almost 8 hours from my place. Both my parents are in Jalandhar and i can ask them to get it , if they sell it at Calcutta music shop. But my dad is gonna say, tu real tabla play nahi karda, electrroic bara vajuna tu.

Last year i got them to get me a Roti making machine but i never used to. I will ask my dad see if he can find it,he is bringing new poores for my tabla though.
