Equivalent To Pope?!

no.

catholics (not all christians), think that the pope is like their "hotline to god". that what he says is god's word. he makes decisions for their whole religion.

we have Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji for that... not a man. so for us God's word is unchanging forever.

for catholics, "god's word" changes to reflect politics or the will of the rich.

analogically speaking however, you could say that the pope is to catholicism as jathedar of akal takht is to sikhi

The earliest known Dons were Popes, esp. Borgia.

Decisiosn in Sikh dharm that affect the panth are meant to be made by sarbat khalsa or via the punj pyare. The panj pyare who make these decisiosn are meant to be teh jathedars of the 5 takht sahibs. They are in no way equivalent to the pope as the pope is elected by other cardinals for life.
