Why do we celebrate Vaisakhi on different days, this year some people celebrate on April13th some on 14th. I know they are using different calendars But isnt time we used one Calendar and everyone followed it.

Why arnt there two Christmas days or different days for Easter, and all muslims celebrate Eid on the same day. Its only theSikhs that do this, until we all follow one route we aint gonna get anywhere

Do some research moonsighting.com reported that Eid-ul-Fitar was celebrated over 5 different days in 2008, because they rely on lunar. Christians also have lunar and solar though the latter is fixed to 25 december.

In the Sikh calendar 14 April is now official. Same for 5 January Gurpurab. A few places still follow Bikrami dates (lunar).

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Bikrami calendar was the hindu calendar that was around at the times of the Guru Sahibs. The SGPC have re invented their own calendar starting from Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth year and called it Nanakshahi which is used by most Gurdwara's

I havent been able to find much research on the new calendar but does the sangat have any objection to it?
