i asked..........see what i mean? he just read my post and then forgot. with this kind of intelligence in the panth we really are in trouble. anyway, dont get your kachera in a knot as i'm sure some sly gurudwara committee or wannabe-jatha commander will take you in and give you a chance to do their dirty work. if your really stupid though, i'm sure RAW has a few planes or cinemas that you could blow up for them.

Dear Random Sikh,

The term Guru is not exclusive to Sikhism, Guru simply means teacher. At no point did Sant Rama Nand Dass proclaim himself as the 12th Guru of Sikhism, he preached what he felt was right - the Dera has opened a charitable hospital, eye hospital and school - can I ask you Random Sikh what Sewa have you done recently to help the less fortunate? Where are the SPGC and Akali Dal in their manifesto in bringing ALL inhabitants of Punjab into Sikhism - and then propagate the true message of Sikhism i.e a casteless society.

What the assassination has achieved is that it has shown to the so called lower caste Sikhs that there is no place for them in the mainstream so they will etch a separate path for themselves. The problem with Sikhism is that it did not reach out enough outside Punjab. Sadly after the demise of the 10th master it maintained a Punjabi mentality and was later spoilt by Jattism.

Christianity has many strands i.e. Methodist, Baptists, Salvation Army, Pentecostal - who is to say what is right or wrong.

The murder is a black day for Sikhism - it will turn many people off the religion and undo some of the great work laid down by the Gurus.

I have done sewa, but dont have explain what i have done to you,.......if I was funded by the government, I would open more than just a eye hospital and school.....may be a couple of hotels here and their as well....

the dude allowed people to matha tekh to him in the presence if sggs, he allowed idol worship in the presence of sggs which is totally against sikhi.....im not saying he had to be shot, but i do applaud the singhs who did....they should be given saroopeh!

peace!

Sant Ramanand was target: Eyewitness

Amarjit Thind

Tribune News Service

Ballan, June 4

Attack on Sant Niranjan Dass and Sant Ramanand in Vienna has taken a new turn with an eyewitness claiming the latter was the target of the attackers and not the former as was being projected by the media.

While the attack on the duo in a Ravidass temple on May 24 had been reported as an attack on Dera head Sant Niranjan Das, but an aide and witness of the incident, today told media persons the accused had come to kill Sant Ramanand and not the former.

Tarsem Lal, said Sant Niranjan Das was sitting ahead while Sant Ramanand was sitting five or six feet behind him when the assailants came and one of them started shooting Sant Ramanand first, he added.

Lal had accompanied both the sants during their tour to Austria and came back today with the body of the Sant and a recuperating Sant Niranjan Dass.

He said Sant Niranjan Das was hit in the melee that followed as the rushed to the aid of his deputy and got injured, he said.

However, he was silent on the identity of the assailants and evaded other queries.

Initially it was reported some Sikh fundamentalists had targeted dera head Niranjan Dass for allowing his followers to touch his feet in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib.

The Vienna police too had also reported the attack was premeditated and a conspiracy. What lends credence to fresh revelation is the fact Sant Ramanand had been named successor of Sant Niranjan Das but he was more dynamic of the duo and it was due to his efforts that the more than 36 deras had come up across Europe alone.

He was largely credited with popularising the sect across the globe. Like Sant Niranjan Das, he was given "Chadavah? (religious offering) to the dera when he was a kid. Known as aggressive and assertive person, he was graduate and had introduced the concept of circulating CDs and DVDs to propagate the teachings of Sant Ravidass. Hence, a possible threat to those who killed him.

how much assets does the dera control? There is certainly more than what meets the eye !

great. so it wasnt even sikhs who killed the guy, but there own lot. so the title of 'hero of the khalsa: who gets a siropa' goes back to the 2 moneh who flame-grilled phula singh. does anyone even know what happened to those 2 moneh? anyway, we also face the creep of the derahs into europe. combined with the mass exodus of educated hindustanis to the west, the mass media gunning for us and the growing political clout of the hindustani govt around the world, it looks like we could end up in a mess.

No, for we have the Random Singhs of the world to outsmart all of these forces against us.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
