Are We Prepared For A Bad Event !

Last year, there were food riots in some parts of europe, there have been incidents of ethnic rioting in the recent past, chamaars rioting in Punjab, sikhs in Pakistan caught up in the battle between taliban and us army.

I feel we as a community have become SOFT TARGETS. We are just lost in our small little world of getting academic degrees, fighting over small things with fellow sikhs etc.. but we are completely ill-prepared for troubled times. I hope singhs like Sarpanch can contribute their suggestions as to what shud be done to make our community TYAR BAR TYAR, SELF SUFFICIENT and ready to cope up with tough times.

We seriously need to look at the structure of our community in the UK and where we are based in and around Britain,based on that we need to create links and have links in each of these areas,with Gurdwareh,Youth Groups and so on.

I believe food wise Sikhs would be okay due to our community being an industrious one which owns a lot of grocers,and other food shops ie chip shops and so on.

Where defence is concerned Sikhs need to realise to be mobile within their own communities in their own areas and towns - a sikh presence would ward off attackers.In times of need yes Sikhs from other areas can come and help but if they do end up in the cells then that would leave their own area and community at risk.

Sikhs need to stop backing down and taking everything thats thrown at them they need to stand up for themselves,im not saying go learn a fighting art as that will never happen.Basic street fighting on a basic level can be done by anyone and if the need comes Sikhs simply need the courage to fight back,maybe going to the gym as well both girls and boys,girls need to lay off the Rihanna image and stop being size 0 and rather eat properly and have at least some strength to fight back incase of an attack,the same applies to boys - they need to leave the 'ghetto' bad boy image with the trousers hanging down(im implying average sikh kids in towns not specifically Gursikhs).

Civil war- Well Sikhs in the UK are so far safe from that but racist attacks by white nationalist nazis' BNP are on the rise on all non whites we need to look into how we can safegaurd our interests and qoum.The other communities will fight back as has been seen with the Muslims,the rich communities like the Hindus/Gujaratis will be safe we know that,the only ones who really stand out are the Sikhs image wise.Sikhs need to realise they will bare the brunt of it like after 9/11 unless they join up and stop fighting rival jathe and stupid arguments over sizes of kachera.

We are self sufficient,but we are unefficient in using our resources,each Gurdwara in the UK donating to a central fund which would move our nation forward in the UK as well as Panjab and other places would make a lot of difference but that is not happening.We have the Doctors,Lawyers, and so on but fail to utilise them in times of need.I'l expand on Panjab and the rest of the world after this post

^^^^Im sure thats what the Sikhs thought back in 84! Those that couldn't see beyond the lies and deceit of the gov that is.
