How to Complete Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a Month

* Complete recitation of the whole of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a month.

* Complete 50 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib in a month; recite 2 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib daily.

* Complete 250 paths of Jap Ji Sahib in a month; recite 10 paths of JapJi Sahib daily.

* Complete 180 Malas (Rosary Mala of 108 beads) of Mool Mantra (from Ekonkar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Such) in a month; do six malas daily.

* Complete 80 Malas daily of Gur Mantar 'Waheguru'; 20 Malas of Waheguru if the Nam is recited four times on each bead.

Almost any printed recension of Gurbani available in the market today will have 1430 pages.

To complete 1430 pages in 30 months you will have to read 47.7 pages per day. If you take 5 minutes per page, this will take you 3.97 hours. If you take 3 minutes per page, it will take 2.38 hours.

Although, it's probably better to not get into ginti-minti (calculations), the above is just meant as a guide.

It seems better to take 2 or 3 months to complete one reading. Even a year or two is better than rushing (depending on your time availability).

Hanji, true but you can only do that if you can read Gurbani.

Baba Nand Singh Jee's aim was to encourage and motivate Sangat to do a minimum certain amount of Abhiyaas a day over a period of time. Doing even 50 Angs of Maharaaj's Bani, or equivalent other Banis, for a month works towards this. This is just one Vidhi/Tareekaa. Anyone should try this and then experience the improvement in one's spiritual life. :D

Right. What I meant to say is that if you only have a single free hour per day, you shouldn't try to rush and read 30 pages in an hour. Read 10 pages, instead.

On the other hand, the average American watches hours of TV per day. You could easily use some of that time to read Gurbani.
