Who? The Sangat and the 1984 Genocide Coalition

When? Friday 4 June, 2pm to 330pm

The petition to be presented on Friday 4th June 2004 at 2.30pm, will include a copy of a major new report on 1984, and a combination of graphic photographs of torture and murder of Sikhs in Panjaab.

The report, entitled "1984 Sikhs' Kristallnacht", presents a 16 page summary of the sequence of Indian state action's over 1984 (principally June 1984 and November 1984). It gives corroborative information from journalists, eye-witnesses and human rights groups. The report has been sponsored by the National Union of Journalists.

The petition will coincide with a Vigil outside 10 Downing Street, from 2pm - 3.30pm. The six-member petition delegation will comprise actual survivors of the 1984 carnage and the ensuing war of repression and genocide. Human rights activists who have investigated and documented the large-scale atrocities, will also be in attendance.
