ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥

जपु तपु संजमु धरमु न कमाइआ ॥

Jap ṯap sanjam ḏẖaram na kamā▫i▫ā.

I have not practiced meditation, self-discipline, self-restraint or righteous living.

ਸੇਵਾ ॥

सेवा साध न जानिआ हरि राइआ ॥

Sevā sāḏẖ na jāni▫ā har rā▫i▫ā.

I have not served the Holy; I have not acknowledged the Lord, my King.

ਕਹੁ ॥

कहु नानक हम नीच करमा ॥

Kaho Nānak ham nīcẖ karammā.

Says Nanak, my actions are contemptible!

Yes brother this happens a lot. When I have an issue and I need guidance or I just want some advice, I take a Cyber Hukumnama and Guru Ji takes care of the rest.

Yes , Guru ji was talking to you . That is why we say Guru Granth Sahib as a live guru . It is alive . The words and the banis in Guru Granth Sahib talk to us and we talk back with our problems and then Guru talks back . When we have sincerity in heart and wish to know solution to our problem , then Guru gives us instructions many a times what to do !

It has happened with me several times as well . Mostly when we take "hukamnama" from Guru Granth Sahib .

ਅਉਗਣੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਗਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਾਇਕ ॥

A▫ugaṇ ko na cẖiṯārḏā gal seṯī lā▫ik.

He does not remind me of my faults; He hugs me close in His embrace.

Muhi mangāʼn so▫ī ḏevḏā har piṯā sukẖ▫ḏā▫ik.

Whatever I ask for, He give me; the Lord is my peace-giving father.

Dhan Dhan Waheguru...... Yes Guru Ji was speaking to you! In fact, Guru Ji tries to communicate with us all the time in different ways, it's us who are ignorant and can't recognise him.....
