Balwant Singh To Be Baptised

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh today announced that they would fulfil the wish of Balwant Singh, a convict in the Beant Singh assassination case who is facing the gallows, to get baptised. He said Panj Piaras, including him, would visit the jail where Balwant Singh was lodged to baptise him.

Balwant, who was awarded death sentence by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 12, had written a letter to the Jathedar expressing his desire to be an Amritdhari Sikh before his death sentence was executed. Giani Gurbachan Singh has asked the SGPC president to make arrangements for the same with the help of the government.

Meanwhile, clearing the confusion over the celebration of Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary, the Jathedar said Gurpurb would be celebrated on January 11. “Till now, it was being celebrated on January 5, but following amendments in the Nanakshahi Calendar, it will now be celebrated on January 11,” he said.

But very little is being done for the shaheeds, hardly anybody remembers them, nobody raises any money for them or their families, The people of punjab say they were terrorists. What I am saying is that that there should be some recognition of their sacrificies, when Bhagat Singh went to the gallows everybody felt it and their were wide spread protests. Here we just say oh another shaheded to join the thousands and forget after a few months. What about Dera Sacha Sauda still going on as normal, The Akalis and Congress have been meeting that Sadh openly, nobody remebers the shaheeds who protested.

yes more should be done to publicise their sacrifices among the sikh population in the west and in india...but the problem in india the sikhs are nearly 100% brainwashed...vast majority of news they listen to cmes from star plus and zee...which both portray kharkoos in the wrong light..as mindless terrorists..which is absolutely false....theres a saying that goes you get the leaders you deserve...and sadly we deserve badal...we do the talk but can never do the walk..because people dont want to face consequences that come with opposing one of the most powerful men in punjab and the whole of india...if our corrupt leaders are not actively opposed then nothing will ever happen..they will remain our leaders...we should take sant jarnail singh jis lead and hunt down all those trators of the sikh nation...starting with badal...only when we have real singhs come into power in punjab..only then our shaheeds will get the limelight they deserve...aslong as we have the liks of akali dal (BJPs <banned word filter activated>) in power then sikhs in punjab are enslaved to hindutva forces

Actually thats not true. Death of the body is going to happen, one way or another, but a Singh never gives up the chance to sarcifice himself over and over for Sri Waheguru ji. So if Balwant Singh can get an appeal and walk out of prison and sacrifice himself again, he will do it. We need Singhs like him to lead others in the fight against Gurnindaks. Letting a loin out would be a grave mistake for the Indian government.
