Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

Media is Mightier than the Pen! – especially when it's used to communicate the Gurbani the Guru's gave us through the Pen !!

Dear Singhs and Kaurs

Guru Gobind Singh Ji - KING of Kings, MASTER of Masters told us to raise the sword, or weapons, to protect ourselves, and others, as a last resort, and only when all other means had failed. As you know the sword can be used to protect innocent people of all races and religions, in the way Guru Gobind Singh Ji used it. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was free from enmity! Guru Gobind Singh Ji also told us to be trained in weaponry, at all times, for defending ourselves and others. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was free from enmity!

You also know that the sword can be used to slaughter innocent people the way Aurangzeb used it. Aurangzeb was a murderer who happened to be a ruler too.

You have all heard about the phrase "The Pen is mightier than the Sword" coined by playwright Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Zafarnama to Aurangzeb is the perfect example of this. If you read the Zafarnama you will see that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's pen was very mighty! Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the complete and perfect Guru, as well as being the complete and perfect warrior!!

Some of you may have also heard about the phrase by Robert Burton who said, "it is clear how much more cruel the Pen may be than the Sword". The laws Aurangzeb had enforced, which were written by pen, were very cruel indeed!

So what means, or methods, was Guru Gobind Singh Ji referring to when he said that we were to use those means, or methods, before we picked up the sword, or a weapon? Well in my humble opinion, I think Guru Gobind Singh Ji was referring to ALL means possible before you were forced to pick up a weapon. So Guru Ji would have been referring to the Pen, and communication in general, this is backed up by Guru Ji's Zafarnama to Aurangzeb. The single most powerful media, for communication, in the world today, is Television!!! As Guru Ji was referring to communication should we not follow Guru Gobind Singh Ji's command and use this very very powerful media to help Sikhs learn about their religion? And, anybody else who wants to learn about Sikhi?

So as Sikhs, is it our duty to support the Sikh TV Stations? Or should we ignore Guru Gobind Singh Ji's command and not use these very powerful means and methods of self-defence?

Please contact the Sikh channels below and see how you can support them. They all need financial support to survive to serve you, Sikhi, and humanity!!

Please also ask your friends and family to support these Stations by becoming members. These channels reach millions and millions of people:

Can all employees and sevadaars of the above stations communicate in a very warm and welcoming fashion when you are contacted by somebody who wants to become a member of your station, or give you financial support (remember - you are a representative of your station!!!) .
