ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥

O Merciful to the meek, hear my prayer, O Lord God; You are my Master, O Lord King.

ਹਉ ਮਾਗਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

I beg for the Sanctuary of the Lord's Name, Har, Har; please, place it in my mouth.

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥

It is the Lord's natural way to love His devotees; O Lord, please preserve my honor!

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੫॥

Servant Nanak has entered His Sanctuary, and has been saved by the Name of the Lord. ||4||8||15||

Ang 456-457

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥

The Lord is the Lover of His devotees; this is His natural way.

ਜਹ ਜਹ ਸੰਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥

Wherever the Saints worship the Lord in adoration, there He is revealed.

ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਲੀਏ ਸਮਾਇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਗਤ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥

God blends Himself with His devotees in His natural way, and resolves their affairs.

ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਜਸ ਮਹਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਰਬ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ॥

In the ecstasy of the Lord's Praises, they obtain supreme joy, and forget all their sorrows.

ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਏਕੁ ਤਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥

The brilliant flash of the One Lord is revealed to them - they behold Him in the ten directions.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਚਰਣ ਜੰਪੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥

Prays Nanak, I meditate on the Lord's lotus feet; the Lord is the Lover of His devotees; this is His natural way. ||4||3||6||

Ang 812

ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥

God Himself is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He does, and causes everything to be done.

ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਘਣੇ ਕਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

He purifies so many sinners; this is the natural way of our Lord and Master. ||3||

Ang 828

ਹਮਰੋ ਸਹਾਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਭੂਲਨ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੋ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰਨ ॥

It is my nature to make mistakes, forever and ever; it is Your Natural Way to save sinners.

ਗਉੜੀ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਜਪਉ ਜੀਅ ਐਸੇ ਐਸੇ ॥ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੧॥

Ga▫oṛī. Rām japa▫o jī▫a aise aise. Ḏẖarū par▫hilāḏ japi▫o har jaise. ||1||

Gauree: Meditate on the Lord, O my soul, just as Dhroo and Prahlaad meditated on the Lord. ||1||

ਜਪਉ = ਜਪਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜਪਾਂ। ਜੀਅ = ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦ! ਜੈਸੇ = ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ।੧। ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ! (ਇਉਂ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ, ਕਿ) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਭਗਤ ਨੇ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ।੧।

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਤੇਰੇ ॥ ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ਚੜਾਇਆ ਬੇੜੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl bẖarose ṯere. Sabẖ parvār cẖaṛā▫i▫ā beṛe. ||1|| rahā▫o.

O Lord, Merciful to the meek, I have placed my faith in You; along with all my family, I have come aboard Your boat. ||1||Pause||

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ = ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ = ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ, ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ, ਸਾਰੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ, ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ। ਬੇੜੇ = ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਉੱਤੇ, ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੇ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਮੈਂ ਜੀਭ, ਅੱਖ, ਕੰਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਭ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ)।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਵੈ ॥ ਇਸ ਬੇੜੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਵੈ ॥੨॥

Jā ṯis bẖāvai ṯā hukam manāvai. Is beṛe ka▫o pār lagẖāvai. ||2||

When it is pleasing to Him, then He inspires us to obey the Hukam of His Command. He causes this boat to cross over. ||2||

ਜਾ = ਜਦੋਂ। ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ = ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।੨। ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ) ਹੁਕਮ ਮਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ), ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੂਰ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਐਸੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥ ਚੂਕਿ ਗਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੩॥

Gur parsāḏ aisī buḏẖ samānī. Cẖūk ga▫ī fir āvan jānī. ||3||

By Guru's Grace, such understanding is infused into me; my comings and goings in reincarnation have ended. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ। ਸਮਾਨੀ = ਸਮਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਚੂਕਿ ਗਈ = ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੩। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ), ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਮਰਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦॥੬੧॥

Kaho Kabīr bẖaj sārigpānī. Urvār pār sabẖ eko ḏānī. ||4||2||10||61||

Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth. In this world, in the world beyond and everywhere, He alone is the Giver. ||4||2||10||61||

ਭਜੁ = ਸਿਮਰ। ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ = ਧਨਖ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ {ਸਾਰਿਗ = ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਧਨਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ। ਪਾਨੀ = ਹੱਥ}। ਉਰਵਾਰਿ = ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ। ਪਾਰਿ = ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਦਾਨੀ = ਜਾਣ, ਸਮਝ।੪। ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਆਖ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ)-ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ-ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣ।੪।੨।੧੦।੬੧। ❁ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੬੧।
