Beginning Of Katha?

Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Phateh(i)!

I was just wondering when and which of our Guru Sahib's started katha-the discourse of Gurbani

I would preferably like to hear replies from Taksalis and their veechar, as daas has taken aagiya from Dhan Dhan Satguru Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj-(through ardaas to Maharaj and hukamnama), to start typing up Gyaani Thakur Singh Jee's Katha online, in the form of weekly blog updates, and if people wish to receive the emails.

So you can understand why daas would like to hear the replies of Taksalis in particular, as the katha is from a taksali viewpoint.

SriGuruNanakDevJi Maharaj explained the SriJapji Sahib to the sidhs , so on that basis we can say that 1st Patshahi started the katha of Gurbani.

I think katha has been going on since forever, cause I remember a Sakhi where Vashist Monee Ji went to Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji (Rampur Khera Wale) and Baba Ji asked Vashist Monee Ji to give them some teachings so that they could pass it on to the Sangat, and Vashist Monee Ji replied Don't no about your guys' Sangat but when we used to do Katha we used to get the Sangat to say Ram.
