Pyaare Khalsa Jeeoooo,

I came across this website a while back. SikhKaras.com.

It seems to be operated by gore Sikhs based in Amritsar. I ordered a couple of karas and was satisfied with their product, but I was wondering about certain karas they are selling that have gold engraving with mantras. Are we allowed to put engravings on the kara? Especially gold ones. Isn't it only supposed to be made of sarbloh, because it is a kakaar and not a piece of jewelry?

For example:

Aad Gureh Nameh

Engraved Chakri Sikh Kara - 40gThe engraving on this Sikh Kara reads: Aad Gureh Nameh, Jugad Gureh Nameh, Sat Gureh Nameh, Siri Gur Dev Nameh. "In the beginning there was wisdom. Throughout time that wisdom existed. That wisdom is still true. That wisdom will exist forever." This mantra is for protection.
