The point is that sikhi doesnt have priests!! in sikhi we are all sant sipahi!! we dont go into religion the same way as others do. In sikhi we dont need people to devote their lives. Yes we do need caretakers of gurudwara but this shouldnt be a paid job, food/clothing/shelter is good, thats how it was in the old days, most granthis/raagis have jobs outside anyway, they dont need to be making money off keertan, its not a second job..

according to the Rehit and Gurbanu qoutes :GURBANI SHOULD NOT BE SOLD! and doing Seva (keertan, katha, rakhi, and EVEN being a Jathedar) should not be a source of income!

then who come we call it SEVA? :D

this whole system is wrong.......

okey we need ALL SINGHS/SINGHNEES to learn to do 'correct' keertan according to Raags and correct Gurbani pron....and for that we can have schools and so on....for that i think paid teachers are okey.....

but in a Gurdwara we are all equall! and ALL should do Keertan! and together!
