Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

tru........its asleep...........but at times feels like its in a coma.........how long do we hafta wait?......will we be celebrating the 50th yr since massacre bluestar.....by talking about khalistan........or will somethin be done

during the 80's and 90's militant groups recieved soo much funding from the sikhs of canada america england etc.........where has that funding gone...........why dont we now fund/ form political groups......major projects to raise awareness (movies/documentries) or the widows of the shaheeds in the same capacity?

why? why? why?

Its not asleep either its just slowed down it is more underground now then before. The reason for this is probably because if the people are caught trying to do something then the Indian Government will take them and torture them to death. The funding hasn't gone they have the money but its not that easy killing all the enemies and leaving the innocents alone. Just because there isn't any news about people doing anything doesn't mean nothing is going on.

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

bro this underground movement hasnt made very much progress and those that are fundin from canada and america and uk.........will be headin to jail.....cuz of anti terror laws.............and even if theres a underground movement.......things seem to be gettin worse in india....rather than better........maybe the underground movement is slowly diminishing?

I don't think its dying there is always alittle if not always news about one of the groups doing something. The people that are funding the groups are lots of people not just one person. The reason they might not be doing lots of things is because the PM is a Sikh and also Sikhs are not being tortured or abused as much as they were in 1984. If the Golden Temple does become property of Indian Government there might be alot of violence happening in Punjab because there is no way Sikhs are going to give up the Golden Temple to the Indian Government so maybe then you will know that the Khalistan movement is not dead and the people have not forgotten. :T:

Anniversary of SSF celebrated

Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, September 20

The 60th anniversary of the formation of the Sikh Students Federation (SSF) was celebrated at Gurdwara Shaheed Pheruman here today.

A former Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, Giani Kewal Singh, performed ardas on the occasion and prayed for the well being of the Panth. Following this, a ragi jatha of Bhai Bagga Singh performed kirtan and extolled the sacrifices of the Sikh martyrs.

Addressing activists, Dr Bhagwan Singh, a former president of the federation, traced the history of the outfit and the sacrifices made by its members over the decades. He also dwelt at length on the relevance of the ideals and objectives of the federation in today's world.

Mr Swaran Singh Khalsa, spokesperson, Shiromani Khalsa Dal, recalled the dark days after the attack on the Golden Temple and the supreme sacrifice made by Bhai Amrik Singh, the then

chief, and other activists.

Mr Sewak Singh, president of the federation, said the youth today need to introspect on where are they heading by blindly aping the western culture. ‘’The word of the Guru must be obeyed if we are to leave a rich legacy for our coming generations’’, he stressed.

Other speakers targeted the current Akali leadership and claimed that they were reaping the benefits of the sacrifices made by thousands of young men and women during that period. The need of the hour is for the youth to take over the reins of power in their hands failing which they would be condemned to be pawns in the hands of the wily old guard. ‘’Only youth power can deliver us from the clutches of the current politically and morally corrupt leadership’’, they pointed out.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
