Basically they were bribed to become Christian, if poverty is the reason for conversion just look at Africa, Latin America and the Phillipines and see whether these folk have become wealthier by becoming Christian.

Where are the diaspora Sikhs with all this money which is used to bling up these extravagant weddings or these big kothis and purchase of zameen, maybe their money should go to better use.

They were bribed, the thing about these bribes is that missionaries pay the new converts in slow amounts depending on the country the convert resides in. If the converted person is an African for example, they bride them with daily food, if the convert is from a South American country they pay about $25 a month and if they become baptized they pay them extra.

Christianity is purely missionary.
