Khalsa School is now recruiting teachers who specialize in English, Social Studies. Khalsa School is an independent Sikh school with three campuses in Surrey.

Our students excel academically, socially and in sports. We are educating the leaders of tomorrow and we need your help! We are currently recruiting teachers who are willing to enrich our school's environment with previous experiences and expertise!

The successful candidates will have a Bachelor of Education. Foreign credentials will need to be have been evaluated and accepted by the Teacher's College of British Columbia prior to application. You must be eligible to be employed in Canada.

Khalsa School is a Sikh school and a part of the student's education at our schools includes education in the Sikh Faith (Sikh music, history, scriptures). However, these subjects are taught by our religious

department and staff. This job posting pertains only to the academic subjects. Successful candidates do not have to teach students' about the Sikh Faith or be Sikh themselves. We do require that the school environment and property at all times remain vegetarian (meat, fish and egg free -- dairy is permitted), tobacco free and alcohol free. Attendance of Sikh focused assemblies with your students will be required. All teachers and students are required to cover heads using scarfs, bandanas or turbans at all times.

Position Start Date: March 1st , 2015

Educational requirements: Bachelor of Education --Successful candidates must have appropriate certification level, qualifications and eligibility requirements for being employed in Canada and specifically BC.
