The Manmukh says "I am going to do this", "I am going to do that", "I can do this", "I can do that". Later on when things don't go as per plan, the Manmukh makes a sad gloomy face and says "I could have done this", "I could have done that", I should have done this", "I should have done that". The Gurmukh was laughing at the Manmukh before, and continues to laugh even now. He says to the Manmukh "What could you have done then? What do you think you can do now? You couldn't do anything back then, and you can't do anything now!" The Manmukh makes a face even more sad. The Gurmukh consoles him, smiles, and says Awid scu jugwid scu ] aadh sach jugaadh sach || True In The Pr…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH If you can look at the sunset and smile, then you still have hope. If you can find beauty in the colors of a small flower, then you still have hope. If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly, then you still have hope. If the smile of a child can still warm your heart, then you still have hope. If you can see the good in other people, then you still have hope. If the rain breaking on a roof top can still lull you to sleep, then you still have hope. If the sight of a rainbow still makes you stop and stare in wonder, then you still have hope. If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels pleasan…

You Think Sikhism Can Be In Danger ?

I always hear babey at my local gurdwara say things like youth should come forward for service of panth and take amrit , because without youth support , panth cannot be strong and sikhi cannot stand . First , Sikhi , by definition of it , is a divine religion specially spent by god through his emissary Guru Nanak dev ji . Then , why God himself couldn't protect or defend religion ? I noticed some people saying we need separate state , the reason being sikhi could flourish and without independent state , sikhism is in danger Why our leaders and religious sikhs feel panicked any average joe or political parties can put sikhi in danger zone or assimilation in hindus ? a…

I just heard this shabad on Alpha from Darbar Sahib. Bhai Rama Singh's autobiography tells about how saddened they felt at the treatment of the Ox - the farmer will treat it really bad. We fare a similar fate if we don't endeavour to live a Gursikh lifestyle. But the cow is revered right so what does a cow stand for in this shabad? There once was a young student who went everyday to visit a wise and spiritually blessed old man. Each day after school the boy would visit and listen to the old man narrate the Guru teachings and in turn he would help the old man with chores. The old man would always be very happy to see the boy. However one day the boy came to the old man's home as he did everyday. Upon entering the old man summoned him to his side at once. The old man had a grave look on his face. After sitting the boy down he started "Dear boy tommorrow you will die and visit me no longer, you will not see the sun rise, not hug your parents and siblings, not eat a morsel of food as this is yo…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH I just saw that sikhsangat has released their Article of the Month on Satguru Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Maharaj, so I decided to add some more details about young Bhai Jetha. As Bhai Jetha, grew up he used to go and visit the society of holy men. He would give them whatever he recieved from his parents. His parents, wanted him to turn to some occupation for his livelihood, but this was not his own intention. Near to Bhai Jetha's house, there lived a poor man, who made his living by selling boiled pulse. At this man's suggestion Bhai Jetha's Mother, boiled some pulse and placed the boiled pulses in a basket, and gave it to Bhai…

Just over a couple of days ago I was pondering over the question what was destiny - and came to a realization that it is your karma that has put you in a situation in which you can control your decisions hence forth you can change your fate and Destiny at that given moment of time. I know this great wisdom and knowledge is given to me by the great waheguru himself as it is said that if you read pauri 37 of jap ji sahib you will will come to a realization of Destiny and you will have the power to write your own destiny A day later after realising what I do in the present moment will effect my destiny - hence there is no true 'karma' because what was the past is the past…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day he asked God: "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you." "But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy." "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."
