I feel sports especially cricket is amazing and the behaviour of sporting public tell a lot about the country in general. Few days back I was watching the 96 quarterfinal between india and pakistan. Javed Miandad Ji is one of the best batsman of the last 50 years and the most clever(in positive sense) cricketer ever. He was 38, out of practice and form but played a wonderful innings of a captain (GENERAL). He got ran out and when he was leaving the ground for the last time, he was booed. It canot more ghattitya than this. Pakistan dint loose that match. Amir Sohail won the match for India. I feel the only way this kalank on INdian cricket can be removed is if the pres…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Gyani Harinder Singh Ji (Alwar Wale) was with us in Manchester for the last three days. It was truly inspirational to listen to and learn from his Katha. In fact I would go as far as saying it was absolutely amazing and out of this world. Whilst he was here he raised a very serious issue regarding a court case that is currently in its advanced stage in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. On the 20th of February 2009, the court is looking to "define a sikh" in legal terms. As Sikhs, How can we allow this when our Guru's have already defined this and also our Guru is still around us? What gives the court the right to decide on …

I have a friend who has just come down from india. He is a dance teacher and was looking for some work to teach others indian dance lessons. He is able to teach women only dance lessons, kids, classical dance, film dances and bhangra folk dance. Does anyone know where he could do this? His from north-london so something close to north london would be good, but i'm sure he could travel out as well.

(Not sure if this has been posted here already - could not find in search) On Tuesday 3rd February, Satnam Singh Gurwara (Home Office Ref: G1154308), aged 16, was arrested by the Home Office when he and his dad went to sign at Dallas Court in Manchester. He was locked up in the Pennine House Detention Centre at Terminal Two of Manchester Airport. On Saturday he was transferred to Campsfield Detention Centre in Oxfordshire, over 150 miles away from his family and friends. His mum, Peretpal(39) and dad, Rewandar (46) and his sisters Jasmeen(17) and Simran(12) want their brother back. On 18th November 2004, when he was 12, Satnam was kidnapped by the Taliban in Kabul, …

Sikhisim Against Miracles Not For
by Guest fordcapri- 0 replies

something id like to share with you Guru Nanak and the other Sikh Gurus raised a voice against miracle making in the name of religion. Ironically historians have spiced their lives with various miracles for the consumption of the lay man. They might have done so partly because of their love and devotion for these saintly figures and partly because they wanted to impress the masses about the divinity of the mission of their masters. Guru Nanak attached no value to the trickeries or incantations, charms and mantras. He deprecates going to graves and crematoria, wandering in doubt from place to place, living in woods, visiting many places of pilgrimages, donning many garbs…
