What up yall. I went to the nagar kirtan today and saw a parade of Dr Paramvir supporters. One innocent child handed me a paper showing a "before" and "after picture of "Dr Paramvir Singh" the picture is below courtesy of his own website "Drparamvir.com" http://drparamvir.com/images/stories/beforepic1.jpg http://drparamvir.com/images/stories/afterpic2.jpg My question is this How do you go from a trimmed beard, turban sikh to a ------------> Adidas hat wearing shaved/trimmed Sikh? He has bone cancer (leukiemia or w/e they call it) i know you loose hair and such, but his beard is still "trimmed" as showing in the pic below, again from the same site: http://drp…

Guru Nanak Dev Ji & The Kabba (mecca)
by Guest Doe Kar Jor- 6 replies

In the sakhi where Guru Nanak Dev Ji lies down with his feet pointing towards the Kabba, he asks the Muslim priest to turn his feet wherever God doesn't live. I understand this was a message to people to say that God doesn't just live in one place but I don't understand why Guru Ji chose this method to illustrate the point. What is the difference between this and pointing our feet at Guru Ji in the Gurdwara Sahib? In addition to explaining it to me, how would you explain this to a child of 12?

Ok I am new to this forum but i have a lot of questions in regards to marrige. I am 25 years old and am currently searching with my family for \'mr Right\'. I have only seen this one bloke who at first seemed really nice, he chatted with me and really spoke well, but he has dragged out giving a reason as to whether he wants to ultimately marry me. I have been waiting for him for the last 3 months and he has not said a word, when we have called earlier in the talks he said he would call me with an answer but has failed to do so. I want him to give me closure, or just say yes but why has he not said he decision? I want to know why men are so difficult. Its easier for you me…

Serious Marriage Problems
by Guest kaur- 6 replies

Sat Sri Akal, Am new to this - I have got major problems but got no one to turn to and now I have really come to the end, where I cannot take much more and need to explode. I have been married for over 6 months, and yes it was arranged. I just do not seem to get on with him at all. I am not attracted to him and therefore that's the biggest hurdle I cannot get over. Another thing - he makes me perform oral *mod edit* which I hate. I really really wanted my marriage to work, wanted happiness and kept doing all those things but.. I know I am to blame but dunno what to do to change things. I try really hard and just as I think we ver very slowly making little progress, he…

Amrit

I am not an Amritdhari Sikh however I really want to become one someday but I have been wondering for a really long time. I dont do anything bad like drinking, smoking, stealing. I try to avoid the opposite sex. I do Nitnem everyday and naam simran and everything that Guru Sahib Ji's taught us. So my main question is, am I a Sikh? Does Waheguru Ji love me? If I follow all the principles except I am not an Amritdhari Sikh. I heard from someone that a woman died and went to heaven but wasn't allowed entry because she wasn't and Amritdhari so she was told that she's not a Sikh. So she was sent back and she took Amrit and died again. However I have difficulty believing th…

Thought this would be a better place for this sort of post My dad and I went to India to find a bride. We placed an advert in the newspaper but we were nervous about arranging a marriage with total strangers. Through a relative of ours we managed to find a girl who I liked. Since we don't have much family in India this was one of two girls that i was introduced to via relatives - the other family we spoke to said no. I thought everything was fine and said yes and we did the sagan before I left, the plan being we would get married later this year. A few days after i returned the girl phoned and said the balchola has asked to see her degree cert and she was wondering if w…

WJKK WJKF Sangat ji I am a 20 year old male who has a thirst for taking amrit and I have had for a long time. eVerytime an amrit sanchaar comes up however I get dubidha and prevent myself from taking my first step. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t feel worthy of taking amirt.. gursikhs of our panth have sacrificed so much to take amirt and follow the path of guru ji, how can a keera like me compare to them? Im always trying to better myself and become a better sikh and i realise this is an ongong process. the reason i do this is so when I go to take amrit I will feel worthy of even begging before the panj for amrit. At the moment I dnt feel that I am even worthy of …

Gurdwara Karamsar Sikhi Camp
by Guest Guest- 6 replies

We live in Ilford and my children attended the recent gurmat camp at Gurdwara karamsar in Ilford and have been overwhelmed with positive experiences. As a sikh parent I am very grateful for the young sikhs who ran such a fabulous and inspiring camp. I was amazed to see my son come home in a domala on the first day and he desperately wants to tie it again. A profesionally organised camp of this level was overdue in Ilford. We have been sending our children to other camps over the last few years and this has been their most exciting experience. Thank you again to the organisers and the gurdwara. Does anyone know the name of the jatha of sikhs who came from coventry and whe…
