I know this is a Sikh forum but just wanted to ask the sangats opinion on the New Pope... the way they 'choose' the next Pope...all locked up in a room and waiting for the influence of God to decide who to vote for etc...is this at all 'spiritual'? waiting for the smoke to change from black to clear to show people the new pope has been selected and so on. Is this common between us that when a singni wears western clothes the singhniyaa in bana look down upon you. This always happens to me. What is the problem if you are covered up and not displaying any flesh then that is fine in my opinion. Why isn't this fully accepted-after all we live in thee western world and our religion in sikh. We say and preach that culture and religion are different so why am I targeted as my clothes do not influence or affect my rehat. So it is wrong to wear skinny jeans but guys can wear shorts. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
