Hello all, SIGN THE PETITION!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!! The petition, which needs to be signed by October 4, can be found here: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/sharialawuk/ and it's purpose is to oppose the introduction of sharia (islamic) law into the UK and to maintain British common law as the only form of law practiced in Britain. Sharia law is discriminatory and misogynistic and it is medieval in its punishments. Moreover it based on the superstitions of a religion that is alien and inimical to Western values and life styles. You can find out more about sharia law at the following websites: www.jihadwatch.org www.faithfreedom.org And please feel free to send this…

Bansavalinama written in 1769 CE by Kesar Singh Chibber also mentions the celebrating of Dusshera. On the days of Dusshera, worship your weapons. From your mouths you should recite the ballads of Chandi [Chandi Chritars and Chandi Di Vaar]. [Worship your weapons by using] lots of Incense, Gee-lamps, flowers and nice fragrances. [use] Saffron, Sandalwood and a Wisk to wave [above your weapons]. - Bansavalinama pg. 161 ਬੰਸਾਵਲੀਨਾਮਾ ਪਨਾ ੧੬੧

I have a question about the original Shera Punjab group, I was basically wondering what happened to the original members.. are they still around and active in the Sikh community? I've heard that back in the day they took a lot of matters into their own hands to bring about justice ... do they still promote and help in this aspect? Are there other existing groups that still do?

hi sangat I have a friend & she is Amritdari. She also wears a distar. The only thing that I donnot like about her is that she is with a goth. When I say that, I mean that she is dating a goth boy. He is white, but that's not the issue. The issue is that the guy she is going out with doesn't have a faith. He doesn't believe that there is a God and he is full of kaam & she knows that too. But she is not listening to me. I told her two times in a nice manner 'Please stop going out with him. He doesn't even beleve in God and he's going to hurt you. He is full of lust & you know that." She didn't listen to me & is now mad. So I stopped telling her…

An explanation as plain as; "we do it out of sheer respect", is what I have been receiving from many, but I find this answer inadequate and wrong (why: because similiar scriptures such as the bible and quran are treated with respect and given the label of sacred but not to the extent in …
