Sikh ethnicity

I’ve noticed in the USA on the census ethnicity is Chinese, Indian etc. Same for Canada. But in England they’re making it so there’s British Indian and British Sikh. In your opinion are Sikhs really genetically different from the rest of Indians (esp Hindu Punjabi’s) and what about non Punjabi Sikhs? What’s your view in this issue

Meat is not ALWAYS a bad thing

An American went to an Indian island to preach Jesus and Christianity to the natives who have happily been living on the island or 30,000 years without Jesus in their lives. They cut up the American christian and probably cooked him in a pot and ate home for dinner. Now....I'm a vegetarian and would not normally condone the eating of meat but.,...on this occassion, I fully support their meat-eating. https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/who-are-sentinelese-60000-yr-old-tribe-focus-after-american-john-chau-s-death-92014

Who is at my door? He said, "Who is at my door?" I said, "Your humble servant." He said, "What business do you have?" I said, "To greet you, 0 Lord." He said, "How long will you journey on?" I said, "Until you stop me." He said, "How long will you boil in the fire?" I said, "Until I am pure. "This is my oath of love. For the sake of love I gave up wealth and position." He said, "You have pleaded your case but you have no witness." I said, "My tears are my witness; the pallor of my face is my proof.' He said, "Your witness has no credibility; your eyes are too wet to see." I said, "By the splendor of your justice …

2nd gen Radha soamis in sikh families
by Guest Mr Lynx- 2 replies

Hi fam, I would like to address 2nd gen RS children and their impact within modern "sikh" families... IMO none of their children have any general empathy or connection towards sikhs and cant relate to sikhi or in most cases brown people. In the west they usually end up marrying anyone but sikhs & look upon brown people as "freshies" or less than human. There are many modern cases where their girls will often marry black, white or non sikh men & will be outwardly celebrated by their parents. Are RS using the sikh faith to forward their own agenda, monetary or politically based? Also why do anti sikh cults get a pass in this day &…

Help: Professor asking to imagine
by Guest anything_name- 7 replies

Hi, I am a student in one of the US universities. I have to forcefully take a communication class. I am a computer guy in general. My communication class, as I feel like, wants her students to think the way she wants. She asked the students to submit two assignments by imagining. The first was a picture and we have to analyze, interpret, etc. I do not want to go in any state of imagination or unreal world that hurts the real-life thinking abilities. I am really not sure what to do. I am thinking to drop that class. I am not so good at complex vocabulary. And I feel like discriminated by her just because of the fact that I am using my own thinking to answer the q…

Wearing A Dumalla
by Guest SinghR- 0 replies

WJKK WJKF, Sangat, I have a issue that I am concerned about. I want to start wearing a dumalla to gurdwara as I am beginning to wear a dumalla since I am taking amrit in the upcoming months. I was wondering if sangat at my gurdwara will make remarks at me and should I just avoid their remarks as I am taking my Sikhi seriously and following every hukam before taking amrit. None of teenagers my age come to gurdwara or they still wear a patka and more than half the Sikhs don't follow the true teachings of Sikhi. I am willing to wear a dumalla. So should I just start wearing a dumalla without caring what sangat at my gurdwara says?

Sangat ji Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh! I came across a new documentary on the lost Sikh heritage in Pakistan. It is about the journey of one Amardeep Singh, an author/filmmaker as he explores the historical Gurdwaras in Pakistan, apart from the commonly known and famous Panja Sahib, Kartarpur Darbar Sahib and Nankana Sahib. He really went deep into the rural areas of Pakistan to document the Gurdwaras that our ancestors had to leave behind in 1947. Looking at the some of the buildings and listening to the stories really hit me in the feels lol. Apart from this, we can also see how much sharda the Nanakpanthis have towards SGGS ji, something some …
