VJKK VJKF I am planning on enrolling in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes soon. I have a few questions about how I could enrol while planning on taking Amrit. How would I keep rehit of the kakkars while practising my skills without hurting my opponent in the gym? Back when I was younger I enrolled in Taekwondo and they usually told me to take off my kara so I would not hurt my opponent while sparring. Currently my only solution is keeping my kara and a small kard or kirpan in my Kes, but this also raises another question. If I tied a normal or commando style patka, they are quite stable, but my kakkars would probably rip the cloth. I’m not going to wear a Dumala unles…

How do you stay awake during simran? I am to sleepy from lack of sleep because of school since Im in the IB program. I do as much simran as I can, but I always fall asleep at some point and wake up at some time later. Am I I close to reaching a higher level of simran where simran continues in sleep and if I am how am I supposed to continue right now while I stop simran in sleep. I dont want to walk around because I am not fullly concentrated then. Do I just keep trying and failing until I get it right? Also how do I know how far I have travelled on my journey. Is my dasam duar open, how do I know when my paps are disapperaing (i have faith they are, but how to know) for e…

Hello everyone I am a 56 yr old (Irish) woman and I'm having some experiences! Briefly..1st one was a week ago-listening to Waheguru. Have had almost 'compulsion' to listen constantly since, I find myself chanting/singing when walking in the street and this morning (in fact i've just about got over it) I had a second one; this time much more than 1st one. I still don't feel quite 'normal'. Crying, shaking etc, today to the point of..I don't know what. This past 6/7 days since the first one I find myself tearing up quite often and my reality has totally changed. Is there any website or magazine to guide sikh new mothers..I have found there are many in christians but couldn't find in sikhism however I feel every new mother needs some guidance and continous reminder to keep herself and her child on the path of Sikhism..being a mother of 1 year I finf it really hard to do notnem and go to Gurudwara Sahib..I don't find anyone to answer so many querries then one day I landed to a christian website"above rubies".I believe there should be such websites for Sikh mothers too to give constant encouragement to walk on the path of God inspite of all pressures.

Doing mool mantar and gurmantar at the same time

As I do naam simran, I am able to focus on mool mantar and gurmantar at the same time. Is this a distraction? It happens in between mool mantar and sometimes at the same time. I' m (misnomer as the ego is false) just trying to walk the path, it's hard.

Hey guys I check out the sikh sangat e-books section and learned how to read basic punjabi from the book "punjabi primer" but know I am able to read basic words are there any beginner punjabi books like for childern etc.. And Also 1 little complaint the books from scribd.com are not downloadable which is very annoying....so uh try a different hosting site. Thank you reading my inquiry.

Dreaming during simran

For the last few day’s now when I do my simran I keep falling into what feels like dreaming, it’s always of people I’ve never seen before in my life for example 2 seconds until I snap myself out of it. Is this me not concentrating or what? It’s strange because I was focusing fine before. Just suddenly it’s like I get into a drowsy dream state. Today I saw a little girl with a patka jump on my bed. The back of what seems like a hindu man walking. The other day a singhni with glasses? So random.

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
