A question for the sangat. Generally speaking, who pays for the viah? Kuri wale or mundae wale? Is it split half-half? Main ceremony in the morning, reception (celebration) in the evening etc. I am clueless. Thks.

The Guru used these festivals and special days e.g. first day of each lunar month, as symbols or pegs for his teaching themes. And so the Sikhs were slowly diverted from darkness of superstitious ritualism based on fear and ignorance to an enlightened ideology based…

i just wanted to share my feelings with the sangat. i have been into sikhi for 5 years now when i first came into sikhi and was fortunate enough to wear a dastar i had so much hope in sangat that i didnt care that my 'tart friends' would abandon me because i thought i would make gursikh friends with bibian who wear dastaara and that they would welcome me with open arms. thats not the case i tried so hard to make friends with bibian in the uk i used too find out their emails and add them on msn or pm them. nothing worked most of the singhnia would talk to me on msn but then slowly just start blanking me as they don't have time and would rather talk to singhs (flirt), most…

Bobby Pins In Dastaar, Is It Okay 1 2
by Guest G-Ks- 10 replies
- 1.8k views
I have a question Some singhnis use bobby pins to hold up their joora under their dastar. Everyone has different views on that, but the reality is that some girls do not want to tie a dumala and prefer a keski or small dastar but they need to use hair pins (3-4) to hold their joora in place so it does not fall around. Is this really horrible or awful or manmat based, or does Guru ji care more about the kureihts and about love? Is it REALLY bad for your sikhi if a girl does this for a little while, maybe until she wants to die a dumala or something? I think some singhnis from 3H0 do it and I know there are better alternatives but is it extreeemely wrong to do this? I he…
