  2. This is Baba Balwant Singh Ji, he wears this 500 + metre dumalla to show the youth of Punjab and Sikh youth world wide, that if he can wear such a huge turban everyday then we all can at the least wear 1 dastar and keep the Guru's gift on our heads. Baba Balwant Singh Ji is doing an immense seva of being a walking billboard showcasing the Guru's beloved dastar.

  3. Har Har-jan doi ekhu hey dosar nahee koi..... The Lord and His servants are both one, there is no one else. Bhaji I agree with you wholeheartedly. The only thing I would expand on a little is that AkaalPurkh loves His devotees very much and he showers them with blessing and honour. In chaupai Sahib it says that when the Sants are pained so is Akaal pained, and He is happy when His Sadhus are happy. One way that AkaalPurkh honours His devotees is by sending them to Matlok to show us the way. If one tries to reach out and grab a light bulb then one will get burnt terribly, and God is like a light bulb of a million watts and if we reach out directly we cannot take the parkash, we cannot endure His brilliance. We need jugtee/technique and we need assistance and this is where His devotees show us the way. With their guidance and love and patience we take faltering steps along the true path. Many times we fall or veer off course but due to those souls who have been sent by AkaalPurkh from Sachkhand we are guided onto the path again. We suffer because we have detached ourselves from AkaalPurkh and attached ourselves to maya. We suffer because we lose ourselves in maya, we cannot see the wood for the trees, it is when His devotees show us the way that we attach ourselves to Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Shabad Guru that we start to taste the delights of Gurbani. Alas most of us will shun such souls and even do nindhya, and if His devotees are being nindia’d then AkaalPurkh is being nindia’d and so we carry on in the circle of life and death. The pains of both birth and death are eliminated, and they merge into the Name of the Lord. The Lord's servants meet with God and merge into Oneness. The Lord's servant and God are one and the same.

  4. The human body is a complex thing, its chemical balances are so finely tuned that they require a good deal of understanding in order to maintain good health. Every type of diet will affect the body in ways which cannot be seen. You can easily lose weight without joining the gym, you just need the desire to become fit. To lose weight you will need to replace your energy stores away from your food intake. Your body uses the carbohydrates you eat on a day to day basis to fuel your movement, so to make your body use its fat stores you need to cut down on your carb intake. Carbs should be eaten in the morning, best is porridge (dalliya) and a banana, and the rest of the day you should stay away from carbs. Replace with proteins, lentins, cottage cheese, salads, fruits etc. Vegetarians have the biggest issue with this as there are few dishes which can make up a complete meal and still be protein rich. So to get over this, maintain a healthy diet but eat one quarter less than what you normally would. Replace white breads, white roti, white rice with wholemeal alternatives as they are not refined and loaded with sugars. Reduce the ghee in your sabziya, and don’t butter your rotiya. All these small things add to you gaining weight. Drink plenty of water and avoid fizzy drinks, avoid even the drinks which are “diet” as the replacement sweetners in there are dangerous to your health. Avoid crisps and any other snacks, instead replace with natural foods such as raw unsalted nuts, and dry fruits. Keep your intake of food small and regular, 5 small meals a day is better then 1 massive one in the evening. Imagine putting items through a machine bit by bit and the machine will chew it up no problem, put a whole pile through and the machine will grind to a halt. The same happens with your body. As long as the intake of food is small and light, your metabolism will maintain high if you start the day off with breakfast (Not alloo walleh pronteh!) Top the whole diet with a strict exercise regime of varying types, Dand Behtaks are the best exercise for anyone to lose weight and gain mass, these should be done for 30 minutes each day without fail. Add to that long distance running, dynamic weight lifting such as deadlift to snatch to shoulder press, deadlift to snatch to squat and kettlebell snatches to raise the heartrates. Put an evening to going for a run, swimming, or cycling. Making a start is the hardest thing to do, but once you do it becomes easier, your diet will automatically become cleaner because you want to be healthy, and your dedication to training will increase. If the body is the mandir for your aatma, then the body should be looked after. Those people who claim to be bhagats or devotees of god and are fat, are only fooling themselves. A fat person shows that he has too much desire to eat and cannot control his indriya/senses, if he cannot control his indriya how can he settle his mind to focus upon Paramatma. Above all that, a good clean healthy natural diet will help towards your spiritual journey as the mind is cleared of all imbalances created by modern day processed foods.

  5. I know, thats why I support Khalsa Aid and there work that prevents poor Sikhs to take such drastic steps. But we keep crying about Hinduisation but forget growing Islam (due to Gujjars - I have heard first hand accounts how some of them spit while passing by Gurdwaras) and Christianity in Punjab? Paneer veer, you got it. They use Sikh appearence and vocabulary to fool uneducated masses. Their pastors usually keep the Sikhi saroop even after converting to fool us. They use Satsang instead of congregation, Satguru for Jesus etc. Then there are the so called lower caste people who also have gotten into this trap and adopted Ravidasia 'religion' instead of Sikhi. One suggestion; When you go India, don't offer more than 100rs while matha tekking. Use the remaining money to give to the poor for education, etc. Afterall Gareeb da Munh, Guru Di Golak.

  6. What do you expect when Sikhs are turning people away and putting other's down every chance they get. It can be for any reason, their poor financial status, or their 'lower caste', or the fact that they may not have good education etc. Whatever the case may be, every human deserves some respect, which as I have personally seen is not given to many, especially the poor. Have you seen the condition of servants in Punjabi homes? They are treated like dogs! When someone is in need for help, we turn a blind eye to it. You don't have to go far to see this, it has happened on this very forum many times in the past. On the other hand, the Christian organizations are actively seeking out the poor and needy, offering them a helping hand. Think about it, if you were in terrible financial shape and had a hard time putting food on the table and some Christian person came an gave you help, it would naturally make you curious about Christianity. All we Sikhs are doing is using all the money we have to build big gurudwara buildings, instead, we should be helping the poor and the needy. 99.99% of the population does not care about religion when they can not put food in their stomach and roof over their head. Every thing else is secondary to roti (food), kapra (clothing), makaan (housing).

  8. Gurfathe Ji, Whether the prisoner receives the letters is totally dependant on the jail authorities. Sometimes they allow the letters, sometimes they will throw it away We have been able to have a 'team leader' in each prison, who gives us the latest updates and letting us know if there are any new arrivals. The easiest way we have thought to send any letters or messages (if sent through SOPW) is that we chose a prisoner and send it to them, in that way every prisoner will get a letter, rather than Bhai Pal Singh or Prof Devinderpal Singh recieving hundreds and the other Gursikh's recieving nothing... They too have sacrificed everything for the panth and there kurbani in our eyes is at the same level. Bhul chuk marf karni Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fathe.

  9. I doubt if this is true. If it was anywhere it would be in a Haddith. Sometimes some of our more enthusiastic brothers produce such narratives in a burst of 'piousness'. These then get transmitted as if they were true. I don't need any prophecy from Mohammad (or anybody else) to validate or raise Baba Nanak's status in my mind.
