  1. I saw this documentary a few years ago. Mongolians are an amazing people, even though their traditional way of life is now fast disappearing. Smallest and toughest horses in the world and biggest raptors used for hunting, I think its only the Mongolians that have tamed and use Golden Eagles (4th or 5th biggest bird of prey in the world) for hunting, most nations use Hawks or Falcons only, not Eagles. Golden Eagles are amazing, they used to be the apex predator of the sky in thr last century in thr British Isles until they reintroduced the Sea Eagle to Scotland. I went on a bird of preyesque holiday around 5 years ago to 'Eagle Island' commonly known as the Isle of Mull, and saw the Golden and Sea Eagle head to head! Golden Eagles a highly intelligent hunters, in Oct (from memory) on Mull, hunting season on Deer opens. The Stags and Deer seasonally know this is the time to esacape and climb up the Bens. Many Rangers I spoke to, tild me they had witnessed G-Eagles attacking Stags on cliff edges, clawing their eyes, so they lost their foothold and dropped to their death hundred off feet down the mountain. It really is amazing seeing Raptors in the wild, Peregrines and Harrier Hawks are amongst my favourite (if you want to know what a bullet feels like missing your face, feed a Peregrine - fastest animal on the planet). Harris Hawks are the best to keep long term, they are very protective, have a pack mentality (in nature they commonly hunt in packs) and will follow you around in the countryside and keep a close eye on you if take take them out and let them loose. Its good for Singhs to have exposure to these animals to see what true hunters aura and ability is like, helps inspire the warrior spirit in you. But not for the sqeamish, esp when you have to feed the birds!!! Lots of tearing and blood and guts!! Much like a battlefield!

  2. ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ Ekta-Unity in the Panth http://gurmatbodh.bl...12/01/ekta.html One thing that is lacking in the Panth today is Ekta, or unity amongst Gursikhs. In my opinion Ekta is when you accept another Gursikh’s opinions on certain controversial issues and don’t let it get between your Gursikhi Prem. There are many stories that I have heard of Gursikhs from the Damdami Taksal and Akhand Keertani Jatha, and how much prem they had for each other. Over the past 30-40 years these two Jathebandis have given the most for the Panth. On Vasakhi 1978 it was these two Jathebandis that spoke out against the Nakli Nirankaris, who were disrespecting the Sikh Gurus. Sant Kartar Singh in the early 70’s held protests and nagar keertans against the Nirankaris. Then in 1978 under Sant Jarnail Singh the Taksal and the AKJ under Bhai Fauja Singh peacefully protested against them. Everyone knows the story of what happened next and the 13 Singhs that gave their life protecting the honour of their Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. More can be read here: Vaisakhi 1978 and here: Vaisakhi 1978These two jathebandis stood shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand against Beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. One of the first stories I heard was the amount of love Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee and Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee had for each other. These two Brahmgiani Gursikhs who had a few different opinions on some issues, yet there Rehat and Maryada was virtually the same. Sant Gurbachan Singh’s love and respect for Bhai Sahib is clear in a poem they wrote about Bhai Sahib: ।੭੭ ।। The amount of respect and love Sant Jee had for Bhai Sahib is clear in this poem. Calling Bhai Sahib a Sant, writing about the sacrifices Bhai Sahib made and still kept Sarbloh Bibek. Dhan Guroo Ke Pyare. Another time, Bhai Joginder Singh Jee (Talwara) invited Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee to their house for an Akhaand Paat Sahib, Talwara Jee told Sant Jee the Bhog would be after Mundavnee and Raagmala would not be read. Still Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee came and did Katha after the Bhog. Gursikhs like Sant Gurbachan Singh didn`t care when Bhog was, as long as it was one with piaar. They knew that those that do not believe in Raag mala only do not believe in it because of their piaar for Guru Jee. Today we see Sikhs getting into physical fights over these issues. Another story that comes to mind is the amount of Love Sant Kartar Singh had for Bhai Jeevan Singh and the other Jatha Singhs at the time. Whenever Bhai Jeevan Singh Jee came to Mehta for Rainsbhai Keertans Sant Kartar Singh would spread his Hazooria on the ground and get Bhai Sahib to sit on it and then would serve Bhai Sahib langar. Master Niranjan Singh a Keertani from the Akhand Keertani Jatha says in a video recording that every year the Jatha used to go to Mehta, the headquarters of the Damdami Taksal to the Barsi Smagam of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee, they would do Keertan and other seva. The Taksali Singhs would show a lot of love and one could not differentiate between who was a Taksali Singh and who was a Jatha Singh. The Taksali Singhs never once brought up the issue of Raagmala. Sant Kartar Singh used to organize Nagar Keertans and the Jatha used to go to them to do Keertan. The Taksal owned a car, and Sant Kartar Singh used to make the Jatha Singhs sit on top of the car, rather than walk. So much love between these Gursikhs. During the 1980s when Sant Jarnail Singh was the Head of the Taksal, the Taksal was invited by the Jatha to an Akhaand Paat Sahib, so Sant Jarnail Singh and some of the Taksali singhs went to the Bhog. When the Bhog was done at Mundavnee one of the Taksali Singhs shouted out,”Oh aren’t you going to read Raag Mala?” Sant Jarnail Singh took this Singh outside and slapped him, and told him “Everything was going so peacefully, so much Anand, why did you ruin that Anand by shouting that out!” This was the love Gursikhs had for each other. We should all aspire to create this ekta in the Panth!

  4. The question is why did you buy it ??? ANS= EGO< EGO>EGO It's your ego, don't worry i'm not criticizing, but we all fall into EGO again and again. You have done a good thing here, by asking. Fact is that you know somehow that it feels wrong. This is the lord inside you informing you. Consider yourself lucky that you are getting this message. I have fallen into ego and purchases many times, in the past I had more money than 'akal' at times and wouldn't even look at the price before purchasing whatever I could get my hands on. Now, your plate is NOT holy, in the sense it's not sacred like a gutkha. Let's say it was sacred, then exposing it on the streets for people to touch or kick or spit at would be very offensive, similar to doing graffiti on a gutkha. BUT, it is NOT sacred, but the WORD is. 'Waheguru' is sacred and in all honesty NO ONE is going to give you the correct and positive answer here. So,some will say it's fine and some will say it's not, but no answer is going to be definite. What I would do here is use your instinct or gut feeling. If your conscious tells you not to use it then don't. I would try to think of it as you purchasing it to stop anyone else abusing it. In effect, you are then doing a seva by having this responsiblity. Think of it as something you want to keep or even donate to the gurdwara.-Some gurdwaras have their own vehicle for taking the Guru Granth Sahib to residences and akhand paths ..etc.. It would be the most appropriate vehicle for the plate. Personally, I would feel awkward if it were on my car. I mean, imagine my car driving down with 'waheguru' on the plate with some bhangra or ragga blasting away!! -It just wouldn't be right-,....That is just my personal opinion. I would feel that I'm carrying a responsibility with me and not being responsible. That is the simplist way of thinking about it. If your conscious feels this responsibility and fear of being irresponsible, then I would not apply it to my vehicle and instead put it to some good use. Think of it as good seva by applying it to a Gurudwara vehicle. On the other hand, if your conscious does not give you this feeling of guilt and irresponsibility, then by all means feel free to apply it to whatever vehicle you wish. ONLY YOU can decide the answer, ONLY YOU.

  5. Do you think there's a Pakistani version of you, Hammertime007, that spends each day trawling through the internet trying to find news stories about Sikhs that have been arrested doing bad things.....and then starting threads about it on Islamic forums ? If there is....not only would he be just as sad as you but he'd actually have just as easy a life as you coz the media is jam packed each and every day with stories about people with Sikhs names (both male and female) doing crimes. The 2 of you should arrange to meet up one day. Compare notes and tactics. Get tips from each other. And just for a change in scenery, in the interest of balance, you might like to forget about the muslim and post a negative news story about the people that actually occupy you and kill you : the Indian. No ?

  6. Narrow minded individuals that parrot the same thing again and again do harm to the Khalistan movement. Speak softly and carry a big stick. That's what our people are lacking. Action, not just posting on an online forum lol

  7. The following are some pictures I have collected of a Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Saroop that is approximately 200 years old. This is the Bani of our Father, Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj. By not accepting it as our Pitha Jee's Bani- as Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee says- ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਚੋਂਦੇ! I already have millions upon millions of Sins on my head, I do not want to add more sins unnecessarily onto that bundle by not accepting the Bani of my Father. Dhan Dhan Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee! Please view and share, the pictures are on Flickr at this link: The Pictures are in no particular order:

  10. Focus on your education, play sports and study Gurbani. If you still have time then learn keertan or Gatka. Get a professional degree and a professional job, and then get married to a Singh appropriate for you. Its upto you whether you want your parents to find you one. Forget about this relationship garbage. You are just 17, a dangerous age, so best to focus on studies for now and get good grades. Having a boyfriend is something non-Amritdharis do, you said you are Amritdhari, so you can't get into this stuff. I know initially it all may seem pure, but at your age it doesn't take too long to turn impure. padhaayi ch dhiyaan de putt...agge jaake mundeyaan di koi ghaat ni rehni fer...saari umer kari jaayi chatting ohne sammne bithhaake

  11. The 5 K's were given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. If the kachera was given by hanuman then why isn't there a tail opening for the poosh lol. Also these devtas were alive thousands of years before the time of Guru Sahiban so they are all dead. Some did good but none of them were perfect or even Sikhs. If they were alive during the time of Guru Gobind Singh Ji they would have probably (as I would think) taken Amrit from Guru Gobind Singh Ji and got blessed with the Panj Kakaar as well.

  12. Every week some Amritdhari has this issue on the gupt section. It getting sad to see The Piteous State of Today's Sikh Youth If we notice a Gursikh, who has taken Amrit of Guru Sahib and becomes so attracted to the member of opposite sex that he (or she) can only think of her and can't live without her, then surely such person was never in love with Guru Sahib. Every now and then we hear of a Gursikh brother or sister, shamelessly declaring that he or she will die unless he or she marries such and such person. How did a Gursikh end up at such stage? Wasn't he an Amritdhari to begin with? How did he violate such a strict order of Guru Sahib of considering other-women as mothers, sisters and daughters? Our youth now-a-days has reached such state that it has no hesitation or shame before openly communicating with the members of opposite sex. Today they start chatting with someone, tomorrow they start sharing their problems with each other, the day after tomorrow they develop feelings for each other and soon they are going out. Even at Kirtan Samagams where countless Gurmukhs are engaged in praising the true Lord, some of the misled youth are overcome with Aashiqaana feelings (Amorous feelings). The high, impregnable character of Khalsa youth has taken such a beating. Today if you look around, you can count on your fingertips such individuals who have not been stained by entering into relationships before marriage. The Internet has really shrunk the world. Today, if something occurs in the Sikh community in one country, it quickly spreads across the globe. If a young male or female commits an act of transgression, then the reputation of such individual is stained for life. Once one's character gets stained, it's hard to build it back. Gursikhs must rise above the Maya of this world and maintain strong Khalsa character. The time of marriage and the partner for life has already been chosen by Vaheguru. So relax and stop hunting for your life partner on your own. A Sikh youth who keeps strong character, keeps Sikhi Rehit is always in demand as far as marriage is concerned. A youth who starts hunting for a life partner on his own, soon gets his character stained and before he or she realizes, it's too late. No one is saying that we should become a segregated society like the Muslims and keep Purdah and don't talk with each other at all. What's required is to know our limits. Far too many Kaam-related mistakes are being committed by our youth because of their proximity to members of opposite sex. May Guru Sahib do Kirpa and enable his Sikhs to keep a strong moral character on which Guru Sahib can be proud of.
