  1. Emotional blackmail of sangat & little sings with dholki & chimta backing have become 'Sikhi Parchar' ...... No wonder the panth is in this state! Muslims would be proud of this kind of 'parchar'! Barking at the sangat & telling them they will go to hell because they have cut their hair is not 'parchar'. Look at how taksal/nirmale mahapursh did Sikhi parchar, how Nihang Dals travelled all over holding Amrit sanchars after giving indepth katha on actual Sikh history etc that is 'parchar'

  2. The posters have always been dull. That's not an understatement. These posters are crowded with too much 'information', mostly irrelevant information. These posters should be beadbi-less for print: No Khanda on it, no pics of Jathedar Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale, as when you print these, stick them up at the Gurdwara, the Gurdwara people just take them off and put them in the bin. A little bit of sense is needed for this kind of promotion of events. BHUL CHUK MAAF.

  3. I faced just couple of days ago....a very hard situation and was ready to give up by indulging in anger and fustration. But Maharaj did kirpa as i was listening to Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh ji Maharaj katha of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj at the time. Sant ji was saying what Maharaj does is always good...while my mind was saying it is bad. Because at the time i was listening to the Katha, Maharaj pulled me through the hard task and the mind submitted to the Katha of Maharaj.

  4. When you run into a problem, don't get mad or angry. Tell yourself that it is Maharaj's Hukam that the problem occured and start doing simran. Also at the same time think of a solution to the problem that doesn't involve you indulging in the five vices (ego, anger, greed, lust, worldly attachment). Anyone can love Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj, when everything is happening as we would want it to happen. It's in the hard times in life that really show how much we love Maharaj. Incease love for Maharaj in these types of incidents and what Hukam is, will become clearer. Also do or listen to Sri Sukhmani Sahib or Sri Anand Sahib and then Sri Japji Sahib da paat. Contemplate over Gurbani as much as you can. If you can't picture yourself doing a certain seva....like cleaning sangat shoes or washing sangats dishes, sweeping the floors, etc then do it for not 10 minutes, but till certain body parts start to ache and your mind is telling you to give up. Don't stop at this point....keep going and keep doing simran throughout the seva. Once you pass this hurdle, then the mind wants to say i am able to go for so long in a certain seva and able to do it effiecently. This is your pride talking and to knock it down. Start repeating over and over Tuhi, Tuhi, Tuhi, Tuhi, Tuhi......with a shabad that praises Vaheguru who does all and that you can't do nothing and are nothing.....all work you do is a total waste....only Maharaj's work is fruitful.

  5. Thanks to veer - sunny_love_kirtan for inviting me to meet Sant Hari Singh Ji Randhavawaley. It was amazing experience...only some questions were answered (due to time constraints) and also questions which benefits to all the sangat were prioritize first - rightly so.. i am sure sunny veer will post the video soon. As i said earlier, the reason deep questions and others were not answered - a) time constraints, but most important reason b) for deep questions- we all need pre-requisite knowledge of advait in other words- adhyatam before hand to understand the answers fully. On a personal note: As it turns out sant ji did lot of katha in calcutta-dunlop ( my home town), baba ji knows my mama's son very well..when i first met him yesterday- i was quite nervous and scared as anyone would in front of sant mahapursh but soon felt very comfortable -sant ji is very loving and hasmukh

  6. You're misunderstanding the problem, Mehtab Singh. Its not a problem with the nature of Sikhs in the UK. Its a problem with the psyche of muslims in the UK. I'm sure even the US State Department would admit that the UK has the highest amount of fundamentalist muslims in the world, and 99% of them are 2nd and 3rd generation UK born. To get to the bottom of that you need to examine the peculiar nature of multi-culturalism practiced in the UK. An example of it can be seen in visits to Punjab. There, you will find the Canadian flag and American flag proudly being displayed by Canadian and American Sikhs, but you will never, ever, find a British Union Jack being displayed by a UK Sikh. Ever. There are 2 reasons for this. Firstly, because as Europeans, flag waving and nationalism has since world war 2 been considered poor taste and thus it is only the right wing facists that display the national flag. Secondly, because no matter how many generations non-whites in England have been in England we always consider our nation to be the nation our grandparents were born in. Thats why 4th generation blacks in London consider themselves Jamaican rather than British. Thats why we 3rd and 4th generation London born Sikhs consider the Nishan sahib to be our flag and Punjab to be our nation rather than England. In the same way, the British born muslims are drawn to the pan-islamic identity. They identify with every muslim nation on earth, but not England. Just like our allegience lies with Punjab, and not England, their allegience lies with Islam, not England. This is why the dynamics here in England are so very different to that in Canada and America and probably why north American Sikhs find it difficult to understand the problem. On top of that you have one very profound difference between the Pakistanis in England and those in Canada and America. The first point to notice is that the Pakistanis greatly outnumber the Sikhs in the UK. But the most important point is the type of Pakistanis the UK has. On visits to Canada and America I noticed how most of the Pakistanis seem to be either Punjabis or modern pashtuns. Here in England, however, the vast majority of Pakistanis are Mirpuris. Amongst Pakistanis in Pakistan they are known as 'jangli' types, i.e very criminal minded and backward. Amongst this group, petty crime is a way of life, and the act of using girls is a natural by-product of this general immorality. Now......Lets put things in perspective though. We, in the UK, have an almost zero problem of Sikh girls marrying Christians and Hindus. Of course it happens, but in such small numbers it ain't even worth mentioning. In contrast, on my visits to north America, I noticed how extremely common it is there for Sikh girls to marry into, and by default become, Christian. What you will notice then, is that the UK Sikhs tend not to ignore their problem. They make a big scene out of it. In contrast, there is total silence from the Canadian and American Sikhs regarding their far bigger problem of Christian / Hindu marriages. Thus, I can't help but feel that the title of this thread should actually have been : "Question to Canadian and American Sangat: Why don't you learn from the UK Sikhs and do and say things to stop your sisters marrying outside the faith ? "

  8. That is a cool picture I saved it. I'm pretty sure that midget is a child maybe one of the other Prince sons of Marharaja Ranjit Singh. So I got the Wacom Tablet heres a really rough sketch I did. I basically copied this face I found on the internet. I went through the face really fast just to test the pen out and then i played around with the colour. the eyes are lions eyes. I installed sketchbook pro but didn't really like it so I used photoshop since I've been using that for a while and am used to it. Does anyone know how to enable pressure sensitivity in photoshop?

  9. Fateh All, I have been eating sensibly except last sunday when I attended Manchester Nagar Kirtan and pigged out on the chana, bhatoores. I have started eating rotiyan again but I eat only 2 at 6pm. Max roti intake per day is about three. My exercising regime has been good. Had a tough personal training session yesterday and I have a circuits class tonight. Weight wise, I see the weight going down slowly. I have avoided weighing myself because my Personal Training sessions end in 1.5 weeks and I want to weigh myself then. Only reason to post here is so that I can look forward to posting better updates every other week. I hope everyone else is doing well. Balait. I made rice the other day, I used Delia Smith's recipe from BBC and adapted it. Here it is: Use a large pan which allows you to spread the rice evenly Heat pan and put some oil in it Put some jeera, bayleaf, lachiya, cloves and roughly chopped onions in the oil and cook but dont brown the onions Put one bowl of rice in the pan and make sure you stir the rice so that all grains are covered in oil Have some water boiling at this stage and pour the water in the pan. One final stir and then cover the pan with a lid. Cook for 20 mins on low heat (don't lift the lid) When the rice are cooked and the water is gone, cover the pan with a clean cloth and put the lid back on. After 10 mins serve http://www.deliaonli...rfect-rice.html

  12. Eloo! Gurfateh Rom-rom Simran is something that is exhibited, or displayed. Meaning that, it is seen in individuals and experienced by them, only when inner feelings and workings are aligned. Which is why we are told to ‘go inwards’ for our bhagti and naam simran. Once our surti is steady, and ‘tik-ed’ (stable / at peace / at one with naam simran), we start to feel at peace. Then we carry on with the naam simran train to god. Then, u feel a click. Some people experience this click slowly, others, it’s literally a click. This click is what bani talks as a teer to your heart. But its not heart, its hirda.. (some people say, where’s the hirda?.., its 10 finger widths down, from where u speak from. Aka, near enough your chest. In sidh gorst, >tre sat angul vaaee keheeai<.) so this teer that u experience, will have been experienced throughout your naam simran stages that u climb. So..., imagine a druggie. He hears bani, it hits him. Then he thinks to change his ways. Then, he does naam simran. Then few months down the line, it hits him again, and he starts to take active roles in learning bani, and keertan and so on.. in naam simran, the teer will hit, and overcome you. This is where the so called ‘bani / naam simran shakti’ comes from. (jus to say also, bani has come from naam). So ur feeling the naam. Then u ‘go quiet’ as most people say. (cuz ur simran is going into urself – so its very key to be able to comtrol this and not speak during this process etc..) Then, with the sutra tik-ed, naam simran overcomes your body. And ur hair stands up in waves, as described by people. Guru naanak dev ji sez in jupji sahib, let each hair on my body, become a tongue. There are 50 billion, Billion, hairs on average human body. So, when u say 1 waheguru, your entire body will vibrate with that, to turn it into the ‘fal’ (fruits) of saying waheguru 50 billionbillion times. When u get to these levels, u move away from the notion, that naam is a word. Then u get into the viewpoint that naam is something else entirely, and the ‘word’ as such, is a means to realise naam. Then, bout 2-3months later, u will start slipping into the sunn reality. (Note: all timelines that iv sed, are on the assumption that u do simran everyday). Guru ji has given us tools to do naam simran, however, some of these need to be unlocked. We have tongue, footsteps, the beat of the heart, hair, surti, etc. All are tools to jup the naam to open the tenth gate, and go onward to the journey to god, to then meet god, and to get the true mukti, to merge with him. Through these tools, we slip into the sunn, where nothing is, aka god, and then we travel to make the journey to him. U don’t need to worry about sunn just yet. U will know when it happens. Swaas swaas simran, and rom rom simran, are near enough, siblings. They come together, >near enough. Science says, the breath is the link from conscious mind to the subconscious mind. They right obviously.. there’s evidence. Same goes for naam simran. Using the breath, ur rom rom simran can be unlocked. Guru ji also said in jupji sahib, that inside the mind, there are jewls, >rattan javaahar maanik<. Also, jus to say, jupji sahib, is amazing to do for ur dasam dwaar. But to feel its power, is also hard and u need effort, aka kamaaee. Some people try focussing on getting this and that going e.g. gota get the rom rom simran going, but, this is the wrong way to do it. Focusing on the shabad, and trueness, is the way, and all will align for the tenth gate to open. Rom rom simran makes u shine. Glow. I wish I was blessed with this gift also. We have been given 5 senses, ontop of this, guru ji has given us gifts in our body. Through which, we are able to climb the levels. And even get the ridh sidh, which is relatively rely low level. Meaning, its not too too hard to get ridh sidh.so.. yh.. U also mentioned about hearing things. This is very high avastha things. Its after ur in the sunn avastha level for a while. Then u start to hear naam. The vibration of god. And no, its not the white noise u hear if ur ear pops! If u do hear that white noise, its good sign, it means ur ears are sorting themselves out to get redy to hear the naad. Aka, the sound. High level stuff. Ppl that hear this, are very close to god, hence, close to themselves. Simply, 1. be patient... you cannot push what cannot be pushed. 2. jup naam with reverence and conviction... strive to success. 3. jup for the love of jupping it... within randomness, is utter beauty. Utter. These are my rules that iv found. All of bani is naam. Take jaap sahib.. Aad – the beginning --> aka, waheguru! Roop – the true saroop --> aka, waheguru! Anaad – never ending --> aka, waheguru! Moorat – the true moorat --> aka, waheguru! Ajorn - akaal --> aka, waheguru! Purakh – sat-purakh --> aka, waheguru! Apaar – totally, nex level --> aka, waheguru! All of bani is naam. Bani comes form naam. And >through naam, we merge into waheguru. We start to see naam everywhere. Then eventually, see god everywhere. We start to see sarab byaapak. And then some.. it goes on.. no point in talking bout it.. although, info is good. And reely does help.. gives some clarity.. etc. Its all about the journey. Not so much the end result. Reward is given to manz that earn it. Else, no reward! God wants us to n-joi ourselves. So..! jup like never before!!!!!! (im not telling u to specifically do anything, its the choice of the individual!. Im pretty sure u will tho ) Happy jupping!! :l: email me if u wana to lemi no how u getting on! or, jus to chat etc.. = / :lalala: :angeljump: :yeehaw:
