  1. You're very gullible if you think thats all 'some people' here were trying to say. If thats the only point they wished to make them how come they always go deaf, blind and positively mute when it comes to the Islamic heritage of many Sikh traditions, customs and words. How come these 'some people' never ever want to mention such things ? They never do because it goes against their purpose. Their purpose is to forge such close links with Hinduism so as to render Sikhism obselete as a stand alone religion in its own right. They have an agenda, but they need your gullible self to fulfill their agenda.

  2. Well said. The more these people spew bipran ki reet they will only further dig their own graves in terms of progression of their own Sikhi and progression of the Panth. Khalsa is distinct because we only answer to Akaal Purakh and our Guru is Guru Granth Sahib Ji - 10 Guru's. Khalsa is very practical in nature and that is the most dangerous part of the Sikh panth, we are very dangerous to the corrupt and evil if unpard pindoos stop denying the Niara-pun of Khalsa Panth- intentionally or unintentionally. I know what the other perspective is - that of the sanatan Hindus in guise of Sikhs. They fail to realize that all history, mythology, avtars and history from other religions (hinduism or islam) are to be viewed through the scope of Guru Sahib END OF DISCUSSION. Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale's jeevan and recorded katha attests to this- nowhere does Sant Ji by any stretch of imagination say anything about our Kakaars not coming from Guru Sahib. I can make many reasonable points about the absurdity of that video and the claims some people on this thread are making that would be taken seriously by the adharmic and dharmic educated folk, but that would mean what I typed in my previous sentence about viewing everything through scope of Guru Sahib is not sufficient reasoning and I will not insult Guru Sahib. Should not reply to ideas that deliberately or unintentionally are trying to throw chikkard on Guru Sahib's house.

  4. Jab Lag Khalsa Rahe Niara Tab lag tej diyo mai sara Jab eh gae Bipran ki reet, mai naa karo in ki prateet As long as Khalsa remains distinct we will have support of Guru Gobind Singh Jee. But when khalsa goes the way of Biparvaad as some members on this thread are doing by trying to Hinduize Sikhi, no wonder we are in the state we are today where Sikhs are confused about the distinctiveness of Sikh Dharm and think it is a part of Hinduism. May Guru Jee do kirpa on Khalsa so we remain distinct. What ever we got we got from Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Devi Devtas are in no position to give us anything. Far from giving Guru's Khalsa anything, these Devi Devtas are beggars at the doorsteps of Khalsa.

  5. And thats exactly my point Johnny. The people who assert the Hindu origins of some Sikh things will only learn the error of their ways when they are confronted by others doing exactly the same thing as them and asserting the Islamic origin of many Sikh things. Only then will these 'Hindu origin' fanatics learn the error of their ways. You'll often hear these Hindu agenda Sikhs talking about the so=called Hindu origins of things like the 5 K's but have you ever, in your life, heard any of them mention the Islamic nation origins of such things as the words, Dasatar...Dastar Bandi.. Sardar.....etc ? These people are taking us on a slippery rope and they won't learn until others use their own agenda to bite them on the bottom with it. As I stated in a previous message...both are equally wrong. Both groups are equally misguided.

  6. West London Singh, I understand what you're saying. But thanks to people who think Sikhs have taken things or as they say "Blessed" with things from Hinduism and even Islam people are getting the wrong idea about SIkhi. Today so many non Sikhs think Sikhi was artificially created by the Gurus who took some things from Hinduism and Islam and created a man made religion. Sadly I've even seen some Sikhs think this as well. Originally some began to advocate Hindu origins of Kakkars, Sahibzadas(being incarnates of Hindu Gods) did so in order to authenticate Sikhi in the eyes of Hindus. This probably was a useful tool for old parcharaks who wanted to convert Hindus to Sikhi by giving legitimacy to Sikh dharm in their eyes. Another mythological claim is that Guru Nanak Dev Jee was an incarnate of Vishnu or that Guru Gobind Singh Jee invoked the Devi who then blessed the Khalsa. One should see the socio historical context of these myths (which were created after the Guru's period) instead of advocating them as real in this day and age which will only serve to confuse and distort the message of the Gurus.

  7. I am not saying don't tell the origin... I m wondering because above some people are using terms like " interconnection", "came", "Coming","blessings of devi/devtas" of hinduism with sikhism.. ... If I say don't drink alcohol bcz its bad for health and some other person says the same ..It does not mean that his words were coming from my words or he Copied me......its just a common sense. that people don't try to understand.. Turbans were already in existence before Tenth Guru.and EACH AND EVERY GURU OF SIKHS HAD kesh and turban on his head..But today Sikh people try to Ignore the common sense and like to say Only tenth Guru says them to wear...Just bcz he has passed that order.....?? why are not talking about the origin again ? That's what I m talking about the sick mentality of modern sikh people.... The thing is that who maintained the respect and dignity of those 5k's .... Hindus might have used some other terms for their things..but Saying like that 5 k's were in existence before sikhism is really offensive for Guruji.. people sound like 3HO follower who are saying like that about 5k's. Btw its an online forum not sure how many non sikh people who are enemy to sikhs come to this forum and read such Articles......and will be happy to see we are digging a well for own people with our own hands... At the end of the day ,It would not result in anything else but our own people are giving a big excuse to Hindu people to bark against us and They are waiting for the that moment When We give them Excuse and they Attack on us...

  8. I think what some people are saying is that some of the 5ks were in existence before the Khalsa Panth. Thats not to say that the Guru must have "borrowed" them or "copied" them. There are many aspects of Sikhi that were prevalent before Sikhi started. That doesnn't make them wrong. Take the example of Raags for instance. They began with Bhgawan Shiv JI and Mata Parbati. Has the Sikh Panth lost its distinct qualities because of raags being the same? No. And neither will the SIkh Panth lose any distinct qualities if any of the 5K were used by the hindus.

  11. He had darshan of Guru Nanak Dev Ji when he first did 40 day bandgi, which included doing Japji Sahibs 22 hrs everyday. And at hazoor sahib he had darshan of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The details dont matter, what really matters is that we should talk inspiration from Saints lives and try to push ourselves a little more towards simran/bhajan/bandgi. Thats the essence.

  12. Western education doesn't mean anything when it comes to leadership. Have you ever seen the education qualification of all the leaders of India? they are highly educated. Nerhu, Indira Gandhi, our own Sukhbir Badal are all educated from universities in the UK! yet their leadership is an economical and social disaster for India. Punjab has never been as bad as it is now under western educated Sukhbir with most of our youth becoming drug addicts and Patit. On the other hand, Maharaja Ranjit Singh could not read nor write. He stamped his hand because he did not know how to sign his own name. Yet he built a nation from scratch and turned Punjab into the most prosperous place in India at the time. Truth is not all educated people are wise and not all wise people are educated. As for Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, he studied at Taksal since childhood, that is educated! The term "educated" cannot be defined and restricted within the boundaries of western mode of education only. Part of Taksal's curriculum was to study texts such as Chanakya Rajneeti which even to this day is unmatched text on Rajneeti. Before Dharam Yudh Morcha, Sant Jee like the previous heads of Taksal taught all of these texts at the Taksal. Highly educated men like Dr Swami Subramaniam all acknowledged Sant Jee's insight in current political and social issues. He did much more for the panth and the youth of his time than any so called western educated Sikh ever did.
