  2. There are two types of people who read/listen to SriGurpartap Suraj Granth… 1. Gurmukh Jogi 2. Manmukh Bhogi The first type of person will listen to Gursikhs of Samparda ( the lineage of Sikhs from Guru Sahiban). These people will do immense Abhiyaaas of Naam and seva. They will follow and adhere to a very strict code of conduct at all times. These people will not take any scriptures at face value. Their immense Abhiyaas and sangat of great Gurmukhs will teach them to become a Hans ( a hans can separate milk from water). This is a metaphor for seeing the deeper meaning and moral behind a story. These people will learn to se the wider picture in every situation… Sadly, there are many people who are of the mindset where they see filth in everything. These people have not done any sangat of samparda Gursikhs. These people are self taught…

  3. Must have been something very deep for him to take his own life. I think he was a father too On one hand apne are getting killed constantly targeted. On the other hand Singhs are taking their own lives ...sad Maybe the pressure being a 'saint' or being too perfect and doing 'sins' may be become overwhelming for them?! idk May his soul be in peace

  5. Bhenji, whilst we want to maliciously trash the reputation of any Sikh (not our intention), we should never sit idley by and turn a blind eye when things like this happen, even if it's "prominent" Gursikhs. And this is exactly why perpetrators do these things and get away with it, because they know they can. They know that, because of their status within the sangat, people will be ready to stand by them. And, because the truth is known only by a few, their voices get drowned out entirely because they are called liars etc. I absolutely ? agree that we need to go through the system (police, other organisations etc.). But sometimes the system does fail you. And in the case of sexual abuse, in an alarming percentage of cases, the system does fail the victim. And in the case of my friend, he did go through the police, the courts. The right way. But in the end, money and power set the perpetrators free. And when that happens, you lose faith in the system. You do. I genuinely fear for the people who still trust people like these perpetrators. And unfortunately, these die hard fanboys only realise when it happens in their own home, but by then it's too late...

  6. It's also very important to call these people out very publicly when something like this happens. Unfortunately, in our modern day Panjabi culture, we are very much encouraged to sweep things under the rug for the sake of "izzat". Perpetrators like this need to be very publicly named and shamed. We need to start doing this now. Our children's future depends on it.
