I understand we should have a jeevan before we can say anything to anyone, but upon thinking and pondering over this, I realized that Guru pitaajee has given the khalsa sangat the authority of being guru saroop so are you saying that the guru saroop (punj khalse) should have a jeevan before they should be able to say anything to anyone? So would that mean, when the punj piaare give hukam for something that its not acceptable because we think they have no jeevan? I understand your view in terms of individuals, but individually we SHOULDN'T be pointing fingers at anyone, because guru saheb says, manda KISE na akhiye parh akhar eho bujjhiye| so I beleive correcting someone and showing one's faults as a sangat is correct so he/she can improve themselves, that's why there's no dictatorship its called sikhsangat because sangat as a whole voice their opinions. This is the internet there's all kinds of people on SS, kids, monay, naamdharis, etc. so in terms of online polling is pointless, but the topic is of sangat, and I still beleive sangat / punj piaare hukam is supreme and has the authority to correct an individual.

He needs to get pesh in front of panj piaare and accept the tankhiyaa / sojhi they give him. He should have consulted the panj piaare before getting a tattoo now he should accept their tankhiyaa.

I second that, 2002-2003 was unforgettable, members had love for each other and piaas for knowledge of sikhi and they craved that from each other and discussed like brothers and sisters, nowadays its all become like how much more I know than you, and how I can force my view on you instead of thinking with an open mind and being acceptable to all viewpoints.

shastr veerjee, on a side note do enlighten us as to what kind of a person akaalee phoolaa singh was? And in regards to this topic, how does your post relate to the topic at hand? You're getting side tracked and talking about the jeevanee of Akaalee jee, whereas I never mentioned their jeevanee and its irrelevant to this topic. Your tone also came across as a bit offensive, I hope we can discuss this without trying to prove how much each of us know about sikh history and actually open our minds so we can learn from each other. Sangat is bakshanhaar and they will forget if the person comes clean, there are numerous sakhis that show this as an example and I can post them for you if you like. If you can please re-iterate as to how your post relates to not showing one's mistakes to the sangat. I'd be grateful.

Veerjee, Its all about your sangat, its not just sangat of people but sangat of other things like TV, computer, etc. if your sangat is bad and engrossed in maya and if you're watching/listening to such things they will take you down with them, and once they take you down there won't be anyone that will be able to help you, only guru sahib can help you get past this, ARDAAS IS VERY POWERFUL, what I would suggest is do ardaas with pure love and from deep within and Guru Sahib will hear your prayer. Try to do sangat as much as possible, don't let your mind get led astray no matter how hard maya tries to bring you down, I suggest you listen to katha which is a very powerful tool to bring our mind back in control and to make it realize the truth. Don't listen to anyone or anything else that leads you to the path of falsehood. Bhul chuk muaaf jee.

People, INCLUDING Maharaja Ranjeet Singh was given lashes in front of the sangat by Akali Phoola Singh for his mistakes. Learn from pratan gursikhs, know your sikhi.

Veerjee, Although its true some may try to disgrace others or sikhi there maybe those who desperately need the sangat's help thats why they are asking.. And we are closely reading these posts, and only if members report threads can we then take appropriate action, if no-one reports the post we can't really do anything about it, so if you feel a certain thread is inappropriate, please report it. For all other threads please try to reason with the original poster, if its hopeless let guru sahib handle it.

yea we got your back I remember a few years ago everyone use to address each other with so much love and always posted with "Veerjee, ..." and "Bhainjee, ...." nowadays its rarely seen in ANY of the posts.

Since when did lions get so bothered about dogs barking? They're thugs, funded by the government. The cult leader is a clown dressing up in different costumes to entertain the masses, stir up controversy, who cares? Why do we need to listen to what they're saying. The reason why I used the dogs barking analogy is because when dogs bark lions ignore them, because they're dogs, but when they attack then lions shred them to pieces. The purpose and ideology of the Khalsa panth has always been to be defensive, that's why our Guru Sahibans never fought to take over areas, and the country, whereas guru sahib was capable of such power spiritualy and temporaly but he didn't. The government at the time of Guru Sahibaans was against them from the time of Guru Nanak Saheb to Guru Gobind Singh Saheb. It has been proven since 1984 that the government doesn't listen, and when that happens we take matters in our own hands as proven by history. I think there's only one way to uproot the problem, but if that happens, we can definetely expect some lashback on the community as a whole and we have to be prepared for it, last time I went to India I noticed there were rarely any tyaar bar tyaar singhs, most of them were dressed like a typical farmer, guru sahib raised us above that but we've forgotten it, so ultimately we need to become tyaar bar tyaar so we can hold the torch passed onto the panth by Sri Guru Gobind Singh jee maharaaj.

For the period of two weeks the bani is Shabad Hazaare Patshahee 10 (dasvee) and Shabad Hazaare Patshahee 5 (panjvee) If there's any recommendations or certain banis you would like to do please post so we can all do them together as a sangat.. It went pretty well guru sahib's kirpaa naal. I missed a day or so, will catch up today hopefully, its just we're not use to it, once you get use to it, it becomes easy. Any suggestions on next week's bani? Also, should we keep it weekly or bi-weekly or monthly as alias suggested. JustME bhainjee suggested Shabad Hazaare both patshahi panjvee and patshahi dasvi..

I don't think this is such an issue in the west per say, but I think for UK it will be, like the lady said, she knows Britain will be a muslim country in a 100 years and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes that.

Many of us including me who argue have little understanding of gurbanee, because gurbanee clearly states vaad virodh slaahne vaade aavan jaan, gurbanee says DON'T ARGUE, but we still do. So ultulately we can only help someone so much, if they don't want to be helped then we can't do anything, just like the relationship of a doctor to a patient, if the patient refuses treatment, the doctor is helpless. Banee says, the best thing is to do the sangat of those like-minded individuals with whom you get inspired to jap naam/banee. I hope everyone's banee is going great for this week, also if you miss a day, you can do two the next day, bhul chuk muaaf jee.

Inner rehat is the real essense of gursikhee, outer rehat comes naturally, without any inner rehat and bibek outer rehat is bhekh and all a show.

alias jee, I thought about this and I think we should all do them together as a sangat instead of having different polls for different dates, then it will get hard to keep track of dates and will get confusing. As per your recommendation we'll do Chaupaee Sahib next week, and there's no restriction as to whether to do it until arhil or until dusht dokh te leho bachaee or until dohra, in the meantime join in for Japjee Sahib until monday.

The plan was to do a Chaupaee Sahib paath for next week's kamaaee period but a bhainjee recommended to give sangat several options to do certain banis, which were Sukhmani Sahib, Asa Kee Vaar and Mool Mantar Jaap. After this period, we can either continue doing shorter banis and build up to longer banis like Sukhmani Sahib and AsaKeeVaar, some of us do these daily but for those that don't its best to start small and go long. If there's any recommendations or certain banis you would like to do please post so we can all do them together as a sangat instead of having different polls for different dates, then it will get hard to keep track of dates.
